Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a really cool Mopar sleeper. A Dodge Dart Swinger powered by the legendary 440 Magnum. Externally this Dart looks like a nicely restored Swinger, painted Tor-Red and rolling on factory Rallye wheels. Normally a Dart of this vintage would be powered by a Slant Six or a tame 318-not a fire breathing 440. Even better, this 440 is a 1969 vintage Mopar block, has a stout cam and a set of custom headers. It has a healthy lope and runs very strong. Although I have no documentation, its obvious that this is a fresh motor. I pulled the valve covers and everything is spotless. Also equipped with an Edlebrock manifold and electronic ignition, this 440 Dart is ready to surprise the unsuspecting. Backing the 440, is a bullet-proof TCI Torqflite 727 and a 8.75 suregrip rear end. The front torsion bars are new and designed for a big block. Combined with new shocks and a massive Hotchkis swaybar, this Dart can handle the 440. This classic Mopar is painted a nice driver quality Tor-Red paint with a factory black interior. Fresh carpet and seat covers look great. There is a vintage style Sun Tach and a complement of gauges to moniter engine vitals. The door panels, headliner and crack-free dash keep the interior looking nice. There are new door seals as well. A new windshield and seal give a great view when cruising. The Dart is also equipped with front disc brakes. A factory big block, AC radiator keeps things cool. This 440 Dart really has great road presence with a nice musclecar idle. As its a 1975 model, California buyers need not worry about smog. The Dart also has a fresh, mandrel bent big pipe exhaust with side pipes exiting just before the rear wheels. This really is a nice street machine ready to hit your local car show or cruise event. The hard work(especially dropping the 440 into an A-body!) has been done and this Dart doesn't need much to take it the next level. The bumpers need to be rechromed and the tires will need to be replaced fairly soon-although fine for now. I'd also probably order up a custom offset pair of Rallye wheels for the back to stuff some bigger rubber under there to handle the 440. The heater is also currently bypassed although all the in dash controls are there as is a heater core, so hooking it back up is probably as simple as running a couple hoses. Out here in Socal, haven't really felt the need to bother. Thats about it. Don't miss this chance to join the Nopar Nation with a truly unique sleeper-a 440 powered Dart. Performance to rival Hemi-Cudas and Road Runners at a fraction of the cost. Plus, you won't see another like it at local shows. Offered up at no reserve. Good Luck and thanks for bidding. On Dec-29-12 at 14:21:44 PST, seller added the following information: per request, added a couple better pics of interior
