1984 Mercedes Benz 500 SEC RARE European Model Collectors Item LOW RESERVE ! VIN# WDB1260441A001111 If you’re looking for a desirable, collectible and rare Mercedes you found it: 1984 Mercedes 500 SEC coupe W126 series rare European model (not made for the United States market) was imported to California in 1984 and professionally retrofitted to meet all Federal and State emission and safety requirements (see photos with compliance certification tags). This two owner car is currently registered with the license registration and plate tags good to November 2013. Also have the receipt for the paid registration and the smog check inspection which it passed. California title is clear (not salvage or other). As a dry climate California car it is rust free. The 1984 Mercedes 500 SEC price new was $57,550 was the most expensive model. 500 SEC and 560 SEC coupes are desirable and recognized as a collector’s item that will only increase in value. Owning a rare 500 SEC European import non U.S. model is of greater value due to it’s rarity and features: the 5.0 Liter V-8 engine has greater horsepower than U.S. models. The European headlights are different (larger, solid glass, not plastic, with a different embossed lens pattern). A local Mercedes parts dismantler informed me these are very hard to find and if they could be obtained the pair costs at least $1200. The owners manual and instruction booklets are all written in German further evidence this was a European model (see photos). As you will see in the photo of the open trunk lid there is mounted in the inside an emergency road warning sign with reflector that can be removed and placed on the roadway to warn approaching motorists of a stopped vehicle. This is perfect condition never being used, this is the type of equipment you will only find on a European model Mercedes. As a non-U.S. model the front and rear bumpers are shorter than the U.S. model. Again being rare and hard to find these are valuable worth at least $1200 for both bumpers. This 500 SEC is equipped with desirable AMG 18 inch wheels (very expensive $500 each) riding on 45 series tires front and 40 series tires rear. Best color combination (code 040) black with parchment leather interior. Paint is original in excellent condition with a very high gloss. The interior condition is excellent, the leather seats are in very good condition. Carpets are original in very good condition. The body is all original, accident free, with no bodywork, and no repaint; doors, hood, and trunk are perfectly aligned, and close solidly like new. There are a two minor blemishes: scrape on both left and right rear fender wheel wells (recently touched up and not very noticeable), and a dent on the rear left side bumper (can be repaired easily by a body shop). Mechanically everything works. The engine runs smooth, quiet and is powerful. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly with no issues. There are no leaks! Cooling system works perfectly and temperature gauge always shows low temperature. The air conditioning system works perfectly and blows cold air. Climate controls function correctly including the heater and defroster. The original Becker Grand Prix AM/FM radio with casette player works perfect with along with the original speakers and power antennae (extends and retracts). Items that were recently replaced include: battery, fuel pump, alternator, fuel accumulator, front shocks and replacement of the steering box. At 115,000 miles this car runs great and has many years of reliable service. LOW RESERVE PRICE ! NADA value for the 500 SEC is over $12,200 for a U.S. model. The rare European model is worth more. My reserve is set far below NADA and bargain priced. Bid to own this rare quality Mercedes European model, don't let this get away! This 500 SEC has the best features, options, and color combination this is it! The car is turn key and needs nothing, ready for years of reliable luxurious quality transportation. A great investment, in the future these cars are going to increase in value. Please note this is a 28 year old car, excellent original, not restored, has been maintained, serviced and repaired over its life. It is not showroom new and will have minor wear and defects. Car is sold As-is with no warranty express or implied. Winning bidder responsible for shipping costs (not included) and for transportation arrangements.
