I am selling my 1968 Pontiac GTO H.O. 4 Speed Starlight Black hardtop coupe. Assembled in Fremont, California and sold new here in San Diego at Webster Pontiac. This GTO has the original 400 H.O. engine, 4 speed muncie transmission, HD Saf-T-Track Axle, and HD Radiator. It was also ordered with the Retractable Headlamp Covers (Hideaway), Console, Rally gauges, Soft Ray glass-All, Ride & Handling Package, and more. The body is all original. None of the panels have been replaced or patched. The floors and frame are excellent including the trunk. The floors in the passenger compartment under the carpet are still shiny black. This dry GTO has lived in southern California its entire life and I would call it nearly rust free. The doors, rockers, valance, fenders, and quarters are solid. It is very straight up and down the sides and on the roof/hood/trunk. They are without dents or dings other than the front passenger fender. The motor runs excellent with lots of power and it sounds amazing. No leaks of any kind that I have noticed. In the last couple months it has gotten a tune up and an oil change. The 4 speed transmission shifts perfectly. It has a newer complete Flow master dual exhaust. The interior is original, even the carpet. Glass is all excellent. Dash pad is perfect. I have the glove box door and wheel well moldings that go with it. I have the clean pink California title in my name and current registration until 11-2013. I took many pictures to show it well. To find a H.O. 4 speed hideaway #'s matching GTO project is nearly impossible, and this one is all Black. The motor has the same vin number stamped on it as well as the WS code and 317648 engine unit # that is shown on the PHS documents. It has the original 16 heads. I took pictures while I was changing the belt, it is on now. Runs cool the original HD radiator is in excellent condition. This is a dream car for many but only one will get it. The current nada book value is $37,260 average and $72,090 high. Located in San Diego 92111. All questions will be answered promptly. To be used regularly it would need new tires and the brakes do work but they have not been inspected in a few years.
