This car is a 1929 willys whippet coupe body that has had the top removed. It sets on a model a frame that has been boxed and kicked up 4" in the rear. Axles are from a 40's ford with juice brakes and wide 5 hubs. The brakes have been rebuilt and it has a new speedway master cylinder. It has a late 30's side shift 3spd trans that shifts very well. The engine is a 49 mercury 8cm flathead v8. the heads have been removed and the stroke was measured to verify that it is actually a mercury engine (4" stroke) the engine starts and runs well but it does have some blow by and could use a new set of rings. It has an edelbrock super 2 intake on it with 2 ford 94 carbs with progressive linkage. The car is currently wired 6 volt positive ground. The rear axle is a ford banjo with unknown gears in it. The steering box is from a late 40's ford truck. The car starts, stops, runs and drives. Most of the major work on the car has been completed, but it still needs some details worked out, such as completing the wiring, windshield, and some finishing up on the body work.
