1996 Impala SS for sale by original owner (ordered from factory in 1996). Car has high mostly highway miles. Runs well, oil changed every 5000 miles. Car has all SS features and most options (CD player, power passenger seat, etc.). Car has never had any paint or body work. Body is in solid condition with some easily-repairable rust. Interior is in original condition, with normal wear, fading etc. Seats are worn out and seat bottoms all need to be replaced (regularly available on e-bay or craigslist). Car does not always run well when started cold, but within a minute or two runs excellent. I would drive this car anywhere. It needs little work to be a nice daily driver, but needs a full restoration to be anything more. Currently the car has four snow tires mounted, but original rims and center caps come with the car. Will need at least two new tires on the stock rims. Known Issues - Odometer comes on and off (started very recently). Check engine light comes on occassionally but so far always re-sets. Needs work on seats. Driver's door panel cracked over door light and driver's door lock sometimes sticks. Small crack (approximately 1" long) on dash near passenger airbag (see photo). Dash good but discolored from sun. Carpet in fair condition but needs to be cleaned. Map lights don't work, and most radio knobs are missing (I have seen the entire set new for $30). Paint looks fine from thirty feet, a few small rust spots on the hood, small ding on the left front fender, rust through behind right rear tire, rust strarting behind left rear tire, rust coming out over drivers door pillar (see pictures), paint has faded on rear bumper, some chips have come off the left side of the trunk spoiler, and numerous small scratches, etc. Some rust in door jambs, nothing too hard to fix but will need work. No major leaks and doesn't burn oil between changes. It's all there and needs a new home. Bid carefully, the car is complete but 16+ years old and has high mileage. It is sold as is, where is.
