Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 2002 Chevrolet Suburban Z71. Kelley Blue Book value is $6,053 for the condition and mileage. It has 184,881 miles. It has a tow package THAT HAS NEVER BEEN USED! I am the 3rd owner. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! No body damage of any kind! I have owned the vehicle for 5 years and we are NON-SMOKERS and have NO PETS. So, NO SMOKE or PET SMELL! It has leather interior and a substantially upgraded sound/video system. It has upgraded Chevrolet original wheels, not the standard alloys. I bought this vehicle in 2007 with 64,360 miles on the vehicle. I used it for 3 years on my sales job and accumulated about 100,000 miles during this time, with about 80% of those miles as highway miles. We've traveled to the Outer Banks 6 times with this vehicle. It has been a wonderful vehicle for us. It has an after-market Kenwood KVT-512 radio installed. It includes Sirius Satellite Radio and an iPod-direct connection ready to go! Includes the Kenwood branded remote. Also, there is a 10" screen Alpine after-market DVD player installed in the ceiling between the driver and passenger, positioned perfectly for the 2nd and 3rd row seats. There are also 2 pairs of wireless headphones included. And, if you want to listen to the DVD/video over the radio, you just tune the radio to 89.1. Additionally, there is an Alpine amp installed and vastly upgraded speakers (Alpine, I believe, maybe Polk) when the whole system was installed. There is NO subwoofer installed, but there is a spot for a subwoofer in the rear inside panel near the storage area if you wanted to add one. This stereo is AMAZING! You won't be disappointed. Fuel mileage is what would be expected, 15-17 on average. It does take E-85 fuel if you wanted to go that route. The interior of the vehicle is in good shape. The only real flaw is a small tear in the driver's seat near the right shoulder blade. My wife has been driving the vehicle for the past 2 years (about 10,000 miles per year). I was just inspected on 11/27/2012, so it's good in PA for another year. It honestly has at least 50,000 really good miles left on it. Perfect for an extra "towing" vehicle, if you always wanted one of those. And, of course, there is a fold-up 3rd row seat. Over the last 5 years, I've had the catalytic converter replaced (03/2010), fuel pump (03/2010), water pump (12/2011), spark plugs & wires (02/2010), right front passenger window motor (10/2010), transmission fluid replaced (06/2011), windshield replaced for crack (10/2012 by Safelite), serpentine belt (11/2012) and right front wheel assembly - bearings (11/2012). The white color-matched metal rear bumper cover was starting to rust, as all these GM vehicles do. So, I replaced the rear bumper with an after market all black steel bumper cover and replaced the plastic step pads as well. So, the rear bumper looks brand new! (08/2011) Right side view mirror was smashed by hitting a mailbox driving on a small back country road, so I replaced with after market mirror (still power and heated). It's just that the vehicle came with body paint matching side view mirrors. So, I had to replace the driver's side as well with after-market. Both are all black now, but at least they match and the vehicle doesn't look out of place. The passenger side nerf bar (factory installed step bar) hit a curb at one point and it is just a tiny bit loose (and missing one of the 12 inch plastic inserts). When my 60-80 pound kids step on it, it doesn't budge. But, when I (240 pounds) step on the bar, it gives about 1 inch and it's certainly not loose or falling off. Upon visual inspection, the rear joint of the nerf bar is cracked and is separated. But, the driver's side nerf bar is just fine. The trim of the video screen is slightly cracked (not the screen, that is fine). One time, my kids told me the screen was black and white. I snapped back in the trim and the picture returned to normal. It is definitely on it's last legs, but it works fine now. One caveat is that in cold weather, the unit won't work until the car is warmed up. The longest this takes is about 10 minutes after you start driving. It has been that way from the start when it was brand new. So, I've chalked it up to "what are ya' gonna' do". We always park in a garage and the car is usually kept pretty warm. So, we haven't faced that issue much. But, if you park outside in the winter and it gets below 40 degrees, expect this issue to creep up on you. You should get at least a few thousand miles on the tires until they will need to be replaced, probably about 5,000. Rear brakes replaced 11/2011 (172,552 miles). Not sure when front brakes were last replaced, but they are operating fine right now and passed inspection. I already purchased another vehicle, so I'm not in the market for a trade or another vehicle, FYI...
