Hi, I am selling my 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI with only 83,000 miles and a manual transmission. It has always been maintained and the engine and transmission are in excellent shape. The clutch shifts well and there are no problems in any of the gears. You can tell that the car has always been driven by experienced manual transmission drivers. The turbo sounds great and makes the raspy noise that you want to hear when you are accelerating through the gears. The oil has been changed every 5,000 miles with the proper 503 synthetic grade oil which is recommend by VW for its turbo diesels. I am a pilot and take excellent care of my airplanes and cars. The original owner ordered the car custom from Germany and you can tell by the unique choice of features. The windows and side mirrors are the manual kind which may seem like a bad thing but in the long run it is just one less thing to break. A new power window motor usually costs around $250 to replace and install. The seats are cloth and they are in excellent condition with no stains, rips, or tears. It has power locks and comes with 1 key remote which works great. It has the fold down rear seat so you can haul things like skis. The rear headrests, spare tire, tire changing tools, wheel lug adapter, and the owners manual are also included. If you want to install an aftermarket CD player I will also include the VW wiring adapter. On the interstate it handles well. When you take your hands off the wheel at 70 mph there is no pull to the right or the left. The car handles very well and there is a lot of life left in the suspension. The front & rear brakes, right wheel bearing, and the oil temperature sender have been replaced. The timing belt and water pump have never been replaced and need to be replaced at 100k miles. The aftermarket wheels are included with the car and they have near new tires on them that were only mounted a couple months ago. The car has spent most of its life in Washington state and has no rust. The paint is in excellent shape as you can see from the pictures and there are no dents or scratches. Everything works in the car including the air conditioning which blows cold. This is my third TDI and it is definitely the best one that I have had so far. The other 2 TDI's had around 150k miles on them and the suspension was rough on both of them. They did not run nearly as well as this one either. My job is providing a company car and that is the reason I am selling. It has never been in an accident and has a clean carfax which I can email you. The 2001-2003 VW Jetta manual transmission TDI's are the most desirable out of the tdi years because their 1.9 liter engines get the best gas mileage and the cars had excellent rust protection. It is rare that you find one in blue lagoon metallic. They only used this color during 2001. The 2004-2005 year models had a problem where VW used the wrong grade of oil in the camshafts, so the original camshaft has to be replaced somewhere around 125k miles. If you are from out of state you can fly into the Des Moines Airport (DSM) and I will pick you up. I just drove it on a 2,000 mile cross country trip so there is no need to worry about driving it home. I can also assist by dropping the car off at a shippers provided they are within 20 miles and the car has been paid in advance for.
