Vehicle Detail

You ALWAYS wanted one!! Heck...I even want to keep it!! But....too many projects and toys for me currently. And no room. Now it can be yours for NO RESERVE!! Don't miss out!! Such a cool lookin car that you never see. Sure there are literally thousands of Grand Prixs out there on the road. Most of them have been used and abused, long gone from daily use. Definitely very few out there worthy of collector status. I know, I know....its only a Grand Prix. But it's a 1 of 2000 limited edition 2000 Daytona 500 Edition! And in really nice condition, to say the least! Starting with the exterior....it's about a 7.5-8 out of 10. Amazingly no visible exterior rust. Only one easily repairable dent (see below pic). I can count on one hand the amount of dings. Front bumper cover has seen better days but isn't horrible. Only the typical parking block rash in the center and a small cracked area on the right front corner. NOTE the factory front license plate cover is still intact! Usually long gone by now. I believe one driving light works and the other is burnt out. Headlights have the typical sweating inside, but at night light up the road very nicely. In fact, they are minimally dull. ALL tires are matching Michelins. I'd believe them to be the originals. Fronts have 80+% tread and the rears about 50% left. All ride on super clean vibration free Tri-Blades with the proper Daytona 500 Centercaps. ALL 4 of the wheels had the typical tire leakage from sitting, so I went and had them ALL clean and resealed. Below you can see the correct vented hood. The hood is pretty clean with no dings and minimal rock chips. Below you can see....or not....the special edition "sail panels" are missing on the roof. The regular grand prixs didn't come with them. Closer look will show a bit of paint fade on the driver's side edge body line. The area starting at the top left corner of the windshield. It goes down toward the left rear quarter panel with the dent. Maybe someone attempted to fix but never got past the wet sanding? Also the driver's mirror has fade as well. Other than that, the REST of the body is stellar!! Below you can see the rest of the faded area at the top of the left quarter along this side of the trunk. Hardly noticable until you stand over it. I didn't even try, but I'd bet the dent could be popped out from the inside! Rear bumper cover looks great along with the special edition spoiler on the damage free trunklid. Roof looks great too! Exhaust, altho poorly assembled(welded crooked), sports a nice tone with the newer turbo style mufflers, resonator delete, and the correct twin stainless tips. Right front turn signal lense is cracked. They make awesome projection beam headlight assemblies for this car that look amazing. Lower front bumper cover corner has a repairable cracked area. As you are about to see, the interior looks gorgeous! Most of the time, the GM leather is mis-shaped, flattened out or dried out. Not here. Silver accent looks nice without being overdone. Heads up display works flawlessly. Steering wheel controls are unworn and operate perfectly. Everything power works from what I can tell: TCS traction control, windows, HOT HEATED power driver's seat, locks, Performance Mode Transmission, display panel with Boost, dual digital climate control (AC needs a recharge), BOSE AM/FM/CD(display backlighting is out but you can see on the HUD), etc. Steering wheel isn't worn. Seats and leather looks amazing. Driver's bolster is barely worn. I hate smoke and I can't see or smell any signs of a former smoker. Carpet is clean. Sorry no factory floormats. As you can also see, ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup with NONE staying on during run. No worries! Note the "1 of 2000" badge and "Daytona 500" Stitching in the seats along with the 2tone leather! Even tho I stated no visible rust on the exterior, there are a few spots to point out once opened up. Below is the minor area under the trunk lip. None under the hood edge. Only one small (silver still)bubble spot noticable about the size of a half dollar along the driver's door sill. Otherwise very solid considering. No rust to be found under/along the lower door skins. Note even the cupholder is still fully functioning! Factory manual and one key included. No-working keyfob most likely needs a battery. I will point out one other thing, there is a small antenna along the driver's side windshield. I assume from my installations experience that there is also at LEAST an aftermarket keyless entry system installed. But I'd be willing to bet it's a full blown alarm/remote start simply missing it's remotes. If I have time, I will pull the lower kickpanel and confirm for you (make, model, etc). At least a $300 setup, if so and buying 2 remotes off ebay and programming would be worth it! Below is the super clean engine compartment. For the most part, outside of rinsing it off for pictures, I got the car clean and detailed just the way you see it. I've personally logged about 100 miles on the car to ensure it's reliability. The engine fires right up with a bump of the key. Once or twice it had the ticky tappet then cleared up immediately. Pretty typical for the 3.8 to do that, yet the oil is clean and filter changed. Engine runs smooth and quiet. Supercharger is noise-free and helps the motor pin you to the seat with no effort at Wide Open Throttle. K&N air filter is perfectly cleaned and oiled properly. No overheating. Looks to be a recent alternator. Belts are nice with no cracking. No noises coming from the pullies. Motor mounts are tight with minimal slop. Recent battery is strong. As you know, these motors are notorious for the valve cover gaskets leaking. So much that GM recall approved dealer replacement for the front cover for free. This car seems to have it's original gaskets still, altho I don't see any major leaking. Yes, there are some small spotting in you dive into looking with a flashlight. Take the car to your local GM stealer and they will replace the front cover gasket for no charge under the recall placed on these cars. There isn't any leaking underneath the car as it's amazingly dry without leaving a single drip on my shop floor overnight. The trans fluid looks perfectly clean and looks recently serviced as it's gasket area is also clean. Transmission shifts as it should in any gear or mode. Car drives nice and straight with no unusual pulling or wandering, especially after I fixed the leaky wheels (typical for the aluminum to corrode so I get them broken down, cleaned and sealed). Suspension is very quiet with no popping or harshness. Nice and tight. Brakes are super strong and need no maintenance. This car, like all my cars, is a true BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! Why be like every other GTP on the road when you can be one of 2000...and do it with NO RESERVE!?! GOOD LUCK! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. I personally have put my own mother in an 01 C70 with 185k miles(which I just roadtripped 1500miles) and I personally drove a 98 S70 with 220k miles(which I just sold)! Many of my personal friends drive cars that I have sold them. My best friend is on his 5th from me. I treat you no different. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Also, understand that I have the right to end the auction early due to local sale. I STILL REQUIRE a $500 deposit to be made within 24hours. Use Paypal for the deposit please. Of course I understand each bidder/buyer has different payment needs (like using Bill Me Later or Credit Cards) and I will assist when possible. Sorry....no financing is available on this transaction. Please secure your own from you bank of choice BEFORE bidding. Remember....24 hours $500 deposit due....3 days for payment in FULL. Naturally I will assist in ANY shipping needs! Thank you for your interest on this NO RESERVE auction! GOOD LUCK! Venue of sale is Kendall County, Illinois. ALL BUYERS are responsible for $99 DOC fee. ALL ILLINOIS BUYERS responsible for 6.25% sales tax, $99 License Plate fee (or $30 current valid plate transfer fee), $95 Title fee. There are about 8 other states that I (unfortunately) have to collect tax....but it's usually at a discount vs. regular in state. Vehicle is sold AS-IS/AS-SHOWN with no warranty expressed or implied. Please follow deposit and payment instructions posted. Cash in person is preferred payment. After full payment is made, you will receive vehicle (as shown/stated in this ad), title, associated paperwork and key(s). I will happily assist in pickup for a fee to cover my time and fuel costs.
