Vehicle Detail
Relisted due to a non-paying bidder who "changed his mind". Up for bid is an unmolested, one family owner, 1972 Buick Electra 225 2-door. I have owned this car for several years and it has always been one of my favorites. I had planned to restore it but reality has set in and I have decided that I have too many projects lined up for myself to ever finish. The 455 starts right up and the turbo 400 transmission works fine. She will drive around but is in need of a brake master cylinder due to just being stored for roughly the last 12years or so. The black vinyl interior is the best original one I have ever had in all the Buicks I have owned. She does have a crack in the dash on the left side and a minor seam split at the drivers side top of the backrest which would be a simple fix. The door panels are perfect originals, no cracks and in very fine shape. The body is very straight with the exception of a minor shallow crease on the lower drivers side. Two spots of rust, one on the bottom of the passenger side front fender behind the tire and one at the lower rear corner of the rear glass. The floors, trunk and rest are rock solid. I had the car at a body shop for a year and they had started to strip some emblems and trim off of it when they had financial issues, closed their shop and I had to bring the car back home to store it until I could find another shop to finish what they started. All the pieces that were removed are in the trunk, all of it is included, and nothing is missing. Think of it as a head start on the restoration. She is 40 years old this year and I would love to see a new owner take good care of her and finish her up, she deserves to be driven. I have a clear title for it. When I purchased it I was told the mileage was original, and that the odometer reading of 23,000 is correct and that it had never been rolled over, but I have no way to verify it except for the word of the nephew of the original owner who I bought it from. The title reads that it has 123,300 miles on it and that was explained to me as the original owner being an elderly lady who transferred the title to her daughter and the clerk at the title office mistakenly thought that for the car to be that old it surely must have rolled the odometer over, she was incorrect in assuming so.Take one look at the interior of it and it certainly appears to only have 23,000 miles in my eyes. She was garage kept for many years and is a great one to restore. There are many 4-door Buick Electra`s around but not many unmolested 2 doors. Low starting bid and an extremely reasonable reserve price. It will have a new home at the end of the auction. I would be willing to discuss delivery of it, please message me with any questions.
