Vehicle Detail
1970 Judge Numbers Matching PHS Documented Ram Air III w/Muncie M-20 4 Speed Rare color combination of Palomino Copper and Sandalwood interior Built 3rd week of September 1969 Assembly Plant – Arlington, Texas Delivered to The Western Motor Company, Inc –Garden City Kansas I am selling my PHS Documented, Numbers Matching, 1970 GTO Judge. As many of you are aware production was limited to only 3,629 hardtop coupes. Of that number how many have survived with their original engine and in this color combination? This adds up to one rare GTO! Investment: Muscle car prices are once again on the rise and the purchase of this car represents an excellent investment opportunity. I believe that I have set a very reasonable reserve considering the Judge is numbers matching, has a rare color combination, is a 4 speed, and is in very good condition. Engine/Transmission/Differential: The motor was rebuilt around 8,000 miles ago and runs great. The optional Muncie 4 speed w/Hurst shifter operates correctly and transfers power to the rear 3:55 Safety Track (posi) well. This car gets power down to the pavement! A Mallory coil and distributor have been installed for better performance but the original distributor and coil will be provided. There is an oil leak near the main rear seal that will need attention. More than likely when the engine was rebuilt the rear main was not updated with a one piece seal. Interior: The interior has its original stock appearance and is in great condition. The dash is in excellent condition too from top to bottom and side to side (no cracks) as is the center console, door panels, carpeting, and headliner. The Rally gauge cluster and instruments are clear and crisp – they look great. The clock does not operate. The fitment of the rear seat is not in line with the fitment tolerance of today’s vehicles but not uncommon with what I have seen on other GTO’s. The ends of the rear door panels need to be re-glued and wrapped. The plastic panels on the back of the buckets seats are slightly weathered and can either be left as is, re-dyed or replaced. A new modern radio is mounted in the glove box which allows the stock appearance to be kept in place. Body and Paint: The car was repainted about 12-years ago and still maintains a stock like appearance and looks very good. Below each quarter panel, in back of the mud flaps, there are small rock chips in the paint; noticeable if you bend down and get close to the car. On the passenger quarter panel just before the bumper there a small area that has had touch-up paint applied. Touch-up paint is also present in a small area on the edge of the passenger fender side adjacent to the hood.As typical with many GTO’s, the front Endura bumper has some minor hairline cracks in the paint. On the driver’s side there is a vertical scratch about 4” in length and an 1/8” in thickness. Lastly, when the sun is not shinning it is noticeable that the paint on the trunk is a slightly darker shade of Palomino Copper than the rest of the car. I have talked to a few auto bodyshops and it was explained to me that sometimes paint can react differently depending on conditions and surface during the actual painting process and this might explain the darker tint. The sheet metal is a full solid body without rust. The doors close with ease and have well defined lips on the edges. The sheet metal is in excellent condition. The car originally came with a black vinyl top but that was removed when the car was repainted. Surface scratches are present on the glass. You should be able to buff out the scratches with either an over-the-counter product such as Diamondite Glass Repair Kit or have a specialized business do it for you. The hood tach operates properly and illuminates at night. It’s a blast running through the gears watching the hood tach between shifts. Trunk Compartment: The trunk compartment is solid and rust free with the correct finish. The paint was applied and sealed to duplicate the OEM look. Ride and Performance: The car tracks down the road with ease and handles very well. Keep in mind that an old muscle car is not going to handle and feel like a new car. There are no rattles, creaks or funny noises that can often accompany older vehicles. Overall the car rides nice and has a nice feel to it. The best part of driving down the road besides the crisp responsive power and sharp shifts is the awesome exhaust note of the Ram Air III.Vin#’s, Part Number and Date Codes: Car build date - 3rd week of September 1969Vin# 242370R110245 Block Code: WSEngine Block Vin# 20R110245Engine Block (4 Bolt Main Bearings) P/N: 9799914Engine Block Date Code: H189 (August 18,1969) Carburetor P/N 7029268Carburetor Date Code: None exists. I would like full payment within two weeks but if you need additional time to pay the balance let me know as I realize that everyone’s financial situation is different (needing a loan). I am flexible and will work with you on a time-frame that works best for you. I will also assist you with coordinating transportation if the Judge needs to be transported by a third-party. Note: If you are a veteran, check out USAA.com. The organization will loan money on old muscle cars (most lenders will not and if they do they charge a high interest rate). The interest rate at USAA is the same as if you were purchasing a newer used car. The Judge is being sold as is. Thanks for viewing my auction.
