Vehicle Detail
The truck was totally disassembled by me, every bolt over the years. The Frame was water blasted and then POR15 (Paint over Rust) painted. My plan was to get the truck back to totally stock. I replaced almost every nut and bolt on the truck. The first thing I did was have the engine rebuilt and have insert bearing cut into the rods. I then, step by step poured money and time into it and restored it and rebuilt or replaced every component I came across. The truck sat for 23 years in an orchard in Northern California where I bought it from someone that bought it, I bought it a month later from him. It still had the original pink slip; so it is a 2 owner truck. It has California Black plates I found on EBay. The black plates will go with the truck if you are a California buyer. Rebuilt Engine (still a splasher but insert bearings were cut in) Rebuilt TransmissionRebuilt Rear End (3:55) gears is the only thing not stock in the drive train along with the insert bearings. Upgraded to highway speed. Can keep up with the flow of traffic easily. Rebuilt Steering BoxNew StarterRebuilt Generator Recored Heater (one year guarantee) Rebuilt gauges and speedometer, the speedometer adapter is about 5 miles a little slow I think because of the bigger tires. Rebuilt wood floor bed and sealed with Thomson's water seal. New Radial Tires, Spare tire on the rack with a longer bolt in the tire holder rack to compensate for the fatter tires. New Brakes and New Brake Drums Replaced the antenna with a fully retractable one. 6 volt original refubrished radio that will be included. I might get to installing it before it sells depending on how I feel. Rebuilt Ranco Heater Control Valve. New professional paint job by Altissimo in Napa California, national award winner from the Good Guys. Truck Bed had clear bed liner ordered and then base truck color pigments added to the spray bed liner on the sides and the tail gate. I had the truck painted and I got my enjoyment of rebuilding it over the years, so there might be a small chip that I might have missed or maybe the panels don't line up exactly, I did this for a driver not a show truck but for some reason everyone that looks at it thinks it is a show truck, that was not my plan it just turned out really good, everyone says I did a good job. I have put 671 miles on it since I rebuilt it. The odometer reads 671. If you need time to ship I can store in my garage, there is a $35,000 agreed value with Hagerty Insurance when I was about 3/4 complete, it could probably be increased if you sent them completed pictures now if you wanted to. If you store it here while waiting for shipment I would recommend getting it insured. I have a sprinkler system in my garage and a monitored burglar and fire alarm but I wouldn't use that as a guarantee. You are welcome to inspect and or test drive it if you come up here or if you have someone you know up here they can check it out for you. Also there is some extra base Horizon Blue paint that goes with the truck, The India Ivory is empty, the deeper interior blue for the seat frame and rocker panel covers goes with the truck also. Pictures are the most recent, truck has blue carpet, stock was a rubber floor mat, the seat frame and rocker panel covers are a deeper blue.Heater has been recored and painted and installed, a heater control switch has been wired in a new 3 speed fan, a defrost switch has been wired in a 2 speed fan and new defrost hose has been installed to the defrost vents. A small backwards dent in the left front fender (it didn't break the paint) and 2 repaired paint chips in the right side door, also gas leaks out of the filler and puts a stain on the running board if it splashes back and you are not ready for it. I have the black paint for that but haven't ever got to it. The throttle cable is broken, but it doesn't have a lock and is jusy like a choke you pull it out and as soon as you let it go the throttle return spring pulls it back. I can't find one that locks open and is original. The works continue I hate to see it go. There is other stuff I must be missing but it is just stuff I find when I walk by and decide to tinker with it if I am having a good day. I have had many back surgeries and I can't drive it and enjoy it now with the bench seat with my back fusions and herniated discs without more daily pain. I am trying to represent the truck to the best of my ability, I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere right now. There was always something small to do and tinker with and I loved that. I will miss the truck if it sells but I can't drive it anymore and it doesn't make sense to just let it sit in the garage. I am trying to find the right person there might be just the right one person out there so I can find it a good home where it will be taken care of. Questions about the truck? Sure just ask. I have had low ball offers. I have lots more money than it is listed for in it over the years. It is not reasonable to expect to get all that back out of the truck I understand that, so I listed my price close to what I want to get out of it. A good home is important to me also. I would rather sell it to an owner and not someone looking to flip it. Bottom line is the truck will sell for a reasonable price according to the condition. I am not being rude, but lowballers just won't be considered. Lots of pics at Flickr under 53John3100. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45902442@N05 The PayPal requirement is only for the $500 deposit. The total amount is not expected to be transferred via PayPal. That helps with spoof accounts and makes sure anyone that bids is an actual person interested in the truck. On Dec-07-12 at 07:09:31 PST, seller added the following information:As my medical condition will get no better and has severly limited my activity this will be the last time I will list it on EBay, I hope it sells here and gets a good home. If not there is a vintage car consignment company that has appraised it. It will sell for close to their price of 29,995 and they think it will sell quickly but sadly it will most likely be exported. Not something I wanted for this truck but it is just sitting and not helping the engine, the seals, and the rubber. It needs a good home with someone that will drive it and use it, I am hoping it will sell to someone looking for probably the best example of bringing a truck as close back to stock as possible. I didn't spare anything because it was never intended for sale. Things changed. No matter how it turns out thanks for your interest and your bids while it was here on eBay.
