This is just a Really Nice Car. Drives like aCadillac. VERY Carefully Cared for. Questions- 410-562-8317 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are bidding on a classic 940Volvo Turbo Wagon. I've sold scores of 240 and 940 wagons over the years. A 940 , 1995 Turbo wagon is extremely special care. And this is one of the nicer , more carefully kept 940 Volvowagon I’ve seen in a long, long time. Just looking at the car – paint, body, tires and wheels etc based on outward looks how its preserved, it looks like a 5 year old luxury car. Remember the super capable , smiling, confident , geeky kid in 8th grade with the pressed clean pants, the perfect homework, sharp pencils, ? A smiling geek, but he always somehow “had it together”?WELL,THIS IS THAT ADULT GUY’S CAR ! Stickers from Volvos specialty shops under the hood. Expensive BG Transmission flush ticket showing etc . Original owners manual. The care and love shows easily in the outward look. But the real joy is how it drives. A turbo wagon in nice, nice shape. Yeah Baby! This car is a perfect combination of Ride, Comfort andPerformance ……..mated with Safety, Economy, Good Looks and Durability. Yes this is a good car. Last month I took this Volvo on a 1000 mile round trip drive from Annapolisto Columbus, Ohio for a political rally on the Monday before the election. I had to get up at 4 am and deliver election materials for one of the campaigns. Drive out there alone, over all those miles and back in 2 days. Of all the cars I had access to, I took this Volvo Turbo Wagon. Ultra comfortable. Safe dependable, great performance with ebergetic turbo up and down hills. ------------------------------------------ Came in to us in just incredibly nice cosmetic and mechanical condition. This guy just had an incredible mentality. He just kept it overall, SOOOO nice. Overall, one of the nicest , most wellkept , most comfortable, classic Volvos I’ve ever seen in quite while. Period. Again, don’t get the wrong idea…It isn’t perfect of course, but it is remarkably well cared for. That’s what I want to say. Honestly, this guy had to be one rather super careful, super fastidious fellow. The kind of guy who never had a spot on his pants – ever! Engine- Came in clean, clean, clean. Runs perfectly . No leaks whatsoever. The underside is dry and clean as to look almost new. Uncanny. Oil change also had been done quite fairly recently and we’re driving within the change duration. Some details: Theengine is Volvo’s ultra high quality and dependable 2.3 liter 4 cylinder…really the engine standout that Volvo really burnished their reputation on. I don’t need to tell you about it’s greatness. Super strong, super dependable, easy to work on, just a legendary, trouble free power plant . This one is a rare turbo charged edition. The turbo runs perfectly. As you pull away on to an interstate and put your foot into that turbo – wow , that long steady powerful pull is justso nice. Especially for a wagon. It just GOES. It’s a real joy to drive. If you’re a Volvo Wagon lover but sometimes hanker for a little more pull under the hood …. This is your machine! In the last 10 years in the wholesale car biz, I’ve seen 100’s of thousands of cars , but not seen any nice turbo equipped wagon in a 2.3 liter4 cylinder. You can find the turbo 5 cylinders 850 series cars , but I hard to really look for this turbo in the classic 4 cylinder engine . Engine oil shows clean and clear oil .Engine is strong, and smooth. Not even a smidgeon of “blow by”. As you certainly must know, these model engines can easily go well more than 500K miles and in some cases have gone well more than 800 K miles. The Transmission is remarkably nice. I know the difference. This one is nice. Shifts perfectly and super smooth. As noted above ultra high quality BG trans flush some time ago. ~ Brakes – Feel very fresh. Smooth and strong. Stable, solid , tracks well in astraight line - in that "straight as an arrow" Volvo way Steering. Goes down the road flawlessly straight. No fade , pull or drift whatsoever. Absolutely balanced and dead on straight steering. Tires – Tires are a good- excellent condition. Good tread ; a solid B+to A-. Mounted on high quality Volvo aluminum wheels.Heat is strong and very comfortable even in realcold. Fan blower motor is quiet on the dash. Interior- Overall affect is luxury – nice. Sumptuousrich butter leather seating and trim throughout. The seats have the usualsurface spider fiber-cracks . Couple real seat cracks on the driver seat (see pictures). No problem. If you think about it, they’re totally under you when you drive. Once you’re in you never see them and you certainly can’tfeel them. You don’t even know they are there. Carpets are near perfect – again, overall incredibly clean, The interior, again, represents the whole lux feel ofthis car. It’s extremely nice. Perfect, totally intact map pockets storage sleeves on each door! Again if you know Volvos, this is another tell tail barometer of nice care and great condition. Nineout of ten on all classic Volvo map pockets are either gone, broken or at least cracked. As you can see in the pictures, the pockets on both doors are flawless.Based on the external appearance, its pretty clear the car has been consistently garaged, though that’s just conjecture. Certainly looks like it.Rear seat- integrated booster cushion for kids.Exhaust – Exhaust tailpipe and solid full length exhaust in good shape.Headliner is good . Power windows, locks and mirrors. Cruise control – workswell. I used it a lot going to Ohio. Honestly – the great used cars: Whatyou look for in a used car is the mentality y and the energy of the owner. Over the years, it's the owner's mind and personality that make the car what it is. When the owner is carful ,disciplined attentive to detail and ultra responsible you get a used car that reflects that personality. As well as immaculate cabin, the cargo area is just amazing. Original equipment sparetire and all gear. Clean dry and scarcely a smudge. Spare tire in immaculate storage spot. You know how the interlocking floorpanels of a station wagon’s carpeted rear floor usually don’t fit together well? How they often refuse to lie flat and fit together smooth and snug? Ever single panel lies flat, flush and tight andfits perfectly. No fight, no struggle. All lights and lenses are also near perfect. Other little lux features like perimeter safety (red ) lights that glow on each open door edge to protect from approaching cars. Dash mounted outside temperature gauge. Cruise control worked nicely on theTrip last month. The air conditioning worked well when the car came to us in early August . It should still work well now. To be sure - When we decided to take the car off the lot for the eBay auction, we made a list and re- checked all functions. It was so cold that week that the AC came on, the compressor spun, but cycled on and off. So I couldn’t be sure if, in the cold weather, it was just suddenly the case of the AC not working , or if it simply didn’t stay on because it was so cold outside , and the temp sensors sent the sugnal that it didn’t need to come on . Or if it needed Freon- whatever. . I don’t think its a big deal. Its probably fine. Just telling you everything we know. I've driven it maybe 1400 miles already. Just a real specail car. Should last a number of more years because it was so well taken care of. The body is nearflawless…or if not flawless, unique pristine condition. Two very small scratches andone random nearly invisible bean size bubble under paint down low. Other wise the paint and body is really is uniquely outstanding. No rust, no dents,no dings no sign of anything other than a genuinely nice car. Also, Underneath no rust either . Lot of nice little aspects– Nice strong gas shocks on the rear liftgate, mint condition headliner, lockinggas cap etc .Very convenient Hideaway cargo cover that easily pulls out to cover your valuables. Safety, weight and strength in a crash – Hey what can one say. It’s a sturdy, solidly builtVolvo. Luxurious powerseat function. Great. On a long trip adjuting the seat periodically helps a ot.On my return trip from Columbus, as I tired returning, I put the seat backand then tipped it back in a truck stop. I was able to snooze like a baby foran hour or two. Super . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Couple very small things need done to make it your perfect Volvo- CD The Nice looking SONY CD player tuner doesn’t come on. Our mechanic quickly looked and said its not hooked up! Not sure what’s up there. The only other point: If I were keeping the car personally for another or 7 years or so , at some point I’d put 2 fresh shocks on the rear to accommodate loads if I was every planning to use the rear cargo area. About $25 each. For my trip to Ohio last month , though the car very easily handled the 15 heavy boxes of voter ed materials up and down hill, I could tell it would have been better withvfresher shocks. Not really needed, but nice if you want it all ideal. A few years back, when Volvo advertised an"Accidental Loss of Life" insurance policy for all '96 models, they had solid empirical data upon which to make their offer . Amazingly ,Volvo will tell you that no driver deaths occurred in single-vehicle crashes orrollovers of the Volvo (240) car during the 1990-94 period. Not one . Amazing safely record. Volvo made itsreputation for safety and dependability with these cars. You will notice thereare still a lot of them around for a reason. They are extremely strong, safecars. Ifyou’re interested in the car at the Sell It Now …price :In the interest ofselling the car easily we’ve reduced it for the eBay sale. [It has been for salelocally, financeable, .......for $5,295 and it’s still here. It needs to go. ] Now,we will just sell it for cash and it’s no longer financeable. . The "Sell It Now" for the eBay sale has been set to $3488 just to sell it. Cheap. That’s fair. Fair, indeed for this particular car, it’s features, performance, nice condition etc. Again, please just call me with any question or concern. I will help you if I possibly can. Jim, 410-562 -8317. Barring that, and in any event, it will be sold, NO RESERVE to the highest bidder. Simply, High Bid getsit, unless someone arranges to buys it middle of the auction. To find a 2,3 liter turbo wagon one has to be quite lucky ! To find one that’s in extremely nice condition is unbelievably lucky. Its not perfect of course , but, I will say , it’s a special car.
