1979 Malibu Classic Sport Coupe Plus A Treasure Trove of New and Used GM Original Factory Parts This is a total California car manufactured in Fremont, CA (Alameda County), driven in Merced County, CA, and now is back in Alameda County. This car has NEVER been driven in the snow and it is virtually RUST FREE. The car is in up-to-date, non-op status and has a clear title. That means that there are NO BACK REGISTRATION FEES. The current registration fees due are $94 if operated in California. For California operation, it will also need to be smogged. CONDITION: Overall condition is very good for a a 33 year old car. This car hs been garaged for the past 12 years and was gararged by the previous owner (my Dad). Exterior: The car is original and has a nice body with a couple of minor creases (see photos) along the passenger side (My elderly Dad grazed an old refrigerator near the garage doors in his 80s while parking the car). The Light Yellow paint looks to be mostly original, there are factory rally wheels, the Cooper tires are still good and have not lost air for the past 12 years. The car has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning (needs repair), and cruise control (needs repair), The glass is excellent except for a bullseye on the front windshield. The exhaust system needs attention (muffler is rotted out and catalytic converter is worn out). Interior: The interior (Camel Tan) has a hard-to-find, PERFECT DASH, NO CRACKS AND NO FADING. It needs a new headliner shell and fabric (headliner has been removed, see photo), new visors, and new carpeting. The seats have no tears or stains, but the foam on the driver's side is sagging a little. The car starts and runs. The last tune-up was over 12 years ago and it could use new plugs and points. The fuel pump, smog pump, and fan clutch have been replaced. The carburator was rebuilt 12 years ago, but never calibrated and is running rich.
