This is a very original 72 Westy. Few items that were not born with this westy are the later model top, which has a very nice full bed up top vs the child size hammock. Original orange plaid to match with the original colored paint. The paint was re-sprayed with original color some time ago and looks great. It has a brand new canvas pop top net/screen. The top is in the best shape I have ever seen. It will need the two metal hinges that hold it up, can be found on thesamba.com. Also the front seats are later model head-rest seats. Head rests are removable to use the from child hammock included. Seat covers are on it as seen. All stickers though common in the 70's are surprisingly non original ;) and can be easily peeled off if needed. Audio components are added nicely the bus to play tunes nicely down the road. The motor was ordered with the dual solex carbs which have just had a recent rebuild and tuning along with an overhaul of the motor to the tune of 700+$$ including seals, fluids, timing, valves, you name it. This bus drives amazingly. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. The jump seat in back needs a new cover cushion. It is easily accessible online. Its originally a piece of plywood, with foam, and a non stitched vinyl cover stapled over it. All of this is something anyone can find and do over no problem, just have not gotten to it. There is no rust anywhere to worry about at all. Very unlikely for a bus in the north east. Has always been stored in a temp controlled garage. Even the original floor linoleum and table pole fastener is there and in great shape!!! Find that elsewhere! Overall, this bus is a true throwback nostalgic joy ride of a classic that will be worth more tomorrow, though forever hard to part with.. The ONLY reason I am letting it go is due to the fact that I own a new project (1960 mini, childhood dream-car..), and have moved to a home that cannot both of them safe from the weather year round. It will be greatly missed. I have owned several bus's and other VWs for some time. It will be strange not owning one and I can assure you that anyone who has been lucky enough to own one after me has continued to keep in good contact with me and none of them has regretted their decision to get into old VW's.
