Offering my EMW/BMW R35 1949 VINTAGE CLASSIC motorcycleTHIS IS A VERY RARE FIND!!!It is one rare model which was built with BMW parts after the war when the Americans took over the plant and in July 1945 gave it to the Russians control over the BMW Plant in Eisenach, Germany and called themselves EMW, Eisenach Motoren Werke.Yet the question remains if this is a BMW or EMW? They began production in 1946 with serial numbers 200001, this one I am offering is Serial Number 208178, In 1949 = 206501 to 210500 were made so this confirms this one was built in the middle of 1949. Nothing seem to be missing, The bike seem to have retained its original parts, the paint shows some age and so does the leather seat that shows patina and give it great character in my opinion. I bought a new vintage time period correct batterie and I started the bike and drove it briefly, when the Generator stopped working and will now need to be refurbished.The bike can be started with a batterie charger connected, but will stop when disconnected.The gears all ran properly.The tank as a dent on the top right side, while the front fender is a little dented as well on the front left side. Some work as been done by someone in pin stripping some sections of the frame, yet he did not over do it and it still retains its character. See pictures they talk by themselves!
