This is a very nice one owner Mercedes Benz 280 ce (123 body gasoline powered coupe). The car has been lady driven in California since new and is 100% rust free. This car was purchased new by the quintessential retired couple who resided in Palm Springs. The car has 72,344 actual and original miles. The car has been well cared for and runs extremely well. The engine starts right up and sounds very healthy. No leaks, smoke, overheating or unusual noises. The acceleration is strong and positive. The car pulls like a train and is an absolute pleasure to drive (very peppy) and powerful off the line. She handles the road like a top and freeway driving speeds excess of 80 mph are rock solid. The transmission shifts like clockwork and everything is tight. The brakes, steering and suspension are tip top. The alignment is superb and there are no issues. All mechanical, electrical and climate control systems are A+. The air conditioning blows strong cold air and the heat warms the cabin quickly. All gages (speedometer/Odometer), interior/exterior lights and windows work. Cosmetically: The car looks like a million dollars. The body,chassis and frame are 100% rust and dent free. The paint finish has a lovely shine, however the paint is old so there are minimal imperfections. Overall this car looks outstanding. The exterior rubber trim and moldings are all crisp and clean. Lights and lenses are bright (crack and or imperfection free). -The car still bears it's original "blue and yellow" license plates which verifies it's California heritage since new. The chrome shines like new. The stunning original interior compliments the rest of the car. The seats are just gorgeous with no tears or noticeable wear marks. The carpeting, door-panels and headliner are like new. The door-panel plastic door pockets are in great shape. Unfortunately since the car has spent it's life in a very warm desert climate the dash has suffered from a series of hairline cracks. This can be easily addressed with a dash cap (readily available) that can be purchased on eBay. All of the interior wood trim looks amazing. -Factory owners books come with the car along with the original protecto plate/data card The pictures will give you an idea on how nice the car is, however it is much more attractive in person. The new owner will be pleased with the overall outstanding condition. This is a definite classic and rarely seen in the 123 body powered by a twin cam gasoline engine.
