Vehicle Detail
We purchased this Insight from the original owner in Florida last January and drove back to Iowa in late February. The car had 42,560 miles on it when we bought it and we have taken it up to just under 60,000. Our best gas mileage has been 55 mpg with a 48 mpg all around average. The original owner got up to 60 mpg in Florida. This is the CVT automatic with CD, air, power windows and doors but no cruise. All maintenance records are included. The expensive hybrid battery was replaced by Honda last fall. There are no problems to report other than the tires which should be replaced before winter. The exterior has a few small dings on the driver's side which you can see in the photo that also shows the interior. There is also a small door ding on the passenger side and a scuff on the left rear. I will take the car to a body shop tomorrow and see if the scuff can be buffed out. I also want to see anything can be done about a spot about 4x4" on the corner of the roof where the finish has lost its luster. The interior is clean with some small inconspicuous spots on the seat. Let me know if there are questions. I can help arrange delivery. Thanks, Hap PS: You may be wondering why I am selling a car that edmunds lists at over $8,000 in a no reserve auction with a $1 starting bid. I have been using ebay on and off since 1998 and I have found that, if an item is popular and you get the word out, the auction format works just fine. I will be posting this on some of the Insight forums. Feel free to share with anyone who might appreciate this awesome eco-sports car.On Nov-22-12 at 09:26:40 PST, seller added the following information:I have added a picture of the faded area in the front corner of the roof. The body shop said that this can only be corrected by redoing the finish on the roof panel. Estimate $450.On Nov-23-12 at 09:24:12 PST, seller added the following information:The trip to our local one man body shop was well worth it. The scuff in the second to last picture buffed out completely along with a few other small spots. Taking a closer look at the tires I see that they should have been rotated about the time we bought the car. Now the front need to be replaced but the rear tires still have good tread.
