WOULD YOU LIKE AN AFFORDABLE EL CAMINO THAT WOULD BE A GREAT DAILY DRIVER OR ONE THAT WOULD BE A VERY SOLID BASIS FOR A RESTORATION? This is a 1982 Chevrolet El Camino That was an original Texas vehicle and a rural Virginia vehicle from 1991 to present. It is is awesome condition for a 30 year old car! It has been repainted to a custom metallic gold color prior to it hitting a deer in 2001 and matches fairly well on the front end. The only body filler I can locate is on the front lower drivers door and the front drivers fender where I imagine the deer hit. I cannot find any filler on any of the fender wells or any other areas from any rust etc. at all! It seems to be a great solid Camino! It has had a new Goodwrench "crate" 305 V-8 engine installed in it not too long ago and it runs and drives flawlessly. The transmission runs and shifts perfectly also. It drives down the road straight and true without any issues. The air conditioning blows cold and has been converted to the new r-34 system. The cruise control works fine. Even the clock still operates! It has all the original books, both keys, tilt and cruise, power windows and power locks work fine, the headliner is in great condition, the seat has no rips or tears, the visors are perfect, the door panels have some age wear, the power steering growls a bit but is not a major expense to fix, the chrome is great all around and the original wheels are in fantastic condition for 30 years old! The 215/70/14 tires retain 65% of their treadlife remaining. The prior owner also tried to hang speakers on the rear carpet behind the seats that pulled the carpet down as you can see in the photos. The carpets are well worn and should be replaced if you wish to restore this car. Please note that this car is probably a whole lot nicer than I am describing it as I like to describe everything that I can that could possibly be construed as a negative. I don't usually purchase vehicles with high mileage but when I see a new engine and a minimal restoration possibility at a low price offering I WILL do it! This is one of those! What I really like about this one is the rust free body, particularly around the tie downs and wheel wells, as well as the new engine and clean undercarriage. All of the options function as new! All of my vehicles have a free and clear title without any liens. This vehicle has been completely serviced and inspected and should give you many years and miles of trouble free driving.
