Well the pictures should tell the whole story on this Chevelle, but I will try to fill in the blanks as best I can. First off for the Chevelle freaks out there I know that in 1969 they quit putting the SS codes on the data plate, so let me tell you what I do know about the car. I bought this car from the second owner, he told me that this car was an original Super Sport. It does have front disc brakes, and a 12-bolt rearend that looks very original to the car. Also the paint on the underside of the SS hood matches the factory color of the car (which is visible in a few places). You decide for yourself and bid accordingly. THE GOOD: - NOT EXPENSIVE – HAS A CLEAR TITLE – BELIEVED TO BE A TRUE SS396 CAR - 1969 Chevelle SS – cool old drag car – barn find - Tub that is actually very solid – ie: (frame / floor-pans / roof of car)….. - Has a clear title, and with the decent condition of the above listed items the car could be put back on the street (although it would be an involved project) - OR freshen everything up body-wise and own a SS drag car that just appreciates in value every day - There are extra parts that go with the car as pictured. The headers are for a Small Block Chevy as the car was raced with a 283. Last owner was actually starting to freshen the car up to get it ready to race again - Front Disc Brakes have new pads and rotors but they have been sitting a long time, so plan some further maintenance being needed - The rear-end was pulled and freshened up and has a 4.88:1 gear and a POSI in it. It has some aftermarket a-arms on it also - Car had slicks on it but they were toast so I just added some street tires so it would be easy to move around THE BAD: - If this car is going to be raced and run any ET at all, the cage is going to need to be removed and re-done - Needs new Lexan windows installed - The inner structure of the doors and the original SS hood have been lightened CAR IS LOCATED IN PAYSON, ILLINOIS (ZIP CODE 62360) THIS IS THE WEST-CENTRAL PART OF THE STATE I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANYTIME IF THE CAR SELLS OUTSIDE OF EBAY THE FINE PRINT: If you pick up the car in person the only payment method is CASH.
