Vehicle Detail

I have own this opel for about 4 years and use it in the summer to be my local run around car. I bought from a guy in Indiana who had the paint job you see in the pictures done on the car. This is not a "restored" vehicle, but it has been maintained and it runs pretty well. it is however a 40+ year car with the quirks that go with it. I know there are always a lot of questions on this type of purchase that will come up through the auction, but I will try to cover some of the more common things here: As I said the paint job you see was done by the previous owner I don't really know the extent of any bodywork, but the floor pan feels solid and i have seen no bubbling or visible corrosion progress since I have owned it. The area under the battery is rusted out and I had a steel platform created to support the battery. There is also some visible rust on the interior of the wheel wells. Most of the under belly of the car has been coated with a black rubberized antirust coating. The paint job suffered some scratching from a tarp that was used to cover it during a storm so there would be some detailing to do. A previous owner straight wired the lights through the ignition and it seems to work fine, but I have no left blinker and I have not been able to track dowm the problem. The temp, battery, and pressure gauges work. The gas gauge does not. Also on that note I took the gas tank out and had it cleaned and have not had a fuel line problem since. Interior is in fair condition. It looks like the previous own replaced the carpet which looks pretty good, but doesn't seem to fit quite right in all places. I had the dash recovered with vinyl cover from OpelGT Source. It was done by a professional and turned out great. The seats have no major tears or wholes but the driver's side is getting worn. I have both covered with seat covers. The engine has never failed, but it is what you would expect from its age. It leaks a little and occasionally you get a puff of blue smoke when you start it. The mileage listed is what is on the odometer, but I am not 100% sure it is accurate. There is a pile of shop receipts I got with the car logging the different things that have been done to it. I replaced the water pump this summer and put in a used alternator as well as replace the valve cover gasket. As I said I drive it every chance i get in the summer for running errands as it is always fun to drive a car that attracts this much attention and is all about old school driving.
