Vehicle Detail

Up for auction I have a 1959 Studebaker Lark VI, 6 cyl, 3 speed manual. this seems to be a great running and driving little car that could use a few minor things to really make it a daily driver. I love Studebakers and have owned a few, mostly Larks, I bought this car a few months back. More important things have come up and now I am going to try and sell it! I drove this car about 20 miles at highway speeds with no issues, it has a new clutch and it runs good, shifts good, drives solid. It does have a few issues and is missing a couple of pieces......the windshield is cracked, new windshields and rubber are readily available. The drivers side floorboard was rusted badly, I cut it out and tacked in a piece of 16 guage steel so I would have a place to mount the gas pedal. It is not finished or perfect, but makes it so you can drive it easily, I have the piece that was cut out for a pattern, again, complete floor pans are readily available for replacement if you wanted to make it perfect, or just leave it and use the old floor to cut out a hole for the master cylinder to check fluids. The seats are old and torn, the paint is old but polishes up nicely, it has dents and dings in the body and bumpers. It will need new tires if you wanted to drive it anyplace far away, they have tread, but are old and rotted. The external oil filter has been bypassed, the previous owner said he did that because it was leaking, I haven't had a chance to pull it apart to really see why, but it is all there and it looks like it just needs some new fittings and hose. it has no headliner. The drivers side wiper mechanism is missing, the wiper motor and arms under the dash are there, just missing the piece that fits in the body. It is missing the trunk lock also.......I think that is about it. It needs a battery. It's a cool old car with the original tahiti coral paint scheme....that was the factory color. I've had quite a few 59 and 60 larks, this one is nice...the front fenders aren't rusted out at all, the floor on the drivers side I think rusted out because of the windshield seal and water just sitting in it..... This car was listed for sale a few years back for $4650, advertised with a rebuilt engine and only a hundred or so miles less than the odometer say now. I paid a lot less than that and don't have the paperwork on the rebuild, but do have a copy of the ad for the new owner. The engine is clean, not all greasy and grimy so there is no reason for me to believe it was not just rebuilt.... The person I bought it from said he put a new clutch in it. it's possible, but again I can't prove it. It's a good running solid little car. I also have a set of wide whitewalls that will go with it. They are older as well, but are in alot better shape than what is on it. It's a great car...MAKE ME AN OFFER..BUY IT!!! I've listed it a few times, the first time it was run up to $3650 by a scammer, the 2nd time I got offers, but never accepted any.....I'm ready to let her go....NO RESERVE!!!
