Vehicle Detail
This is a 1984 CJ7 Renegade Model Jeep which I am re-listing. It was on Ebay a little while ago, but the reserve was not met, and the buyer I had lined up subsequently fell through. So, now it is on again. The CJ7 has been in our family for 20 years. My father owned it before me, and then a few years ago, I inherited it. Unfortunately, it is a second vehicle and so it doesn't get the time on (or off) the road that it deserves. The engine is an AMC 258 Inline 6 cylinder, with a manual transmission and has an original carburetor, which was just recently tuned. Everything under the hood is in good mechanical order, and it runs very well, especially given its classic status. I make sure to drive it often, to keep it up. With the exception of the parts listed below, and wear items (obviously, Jeeps were built to last but some things just have to be replaced), the Jeep has all of its original parts (gauges, pedals, dash, roll bar, etc...) The wheels are chrome with slight discoloration in the recesses nearest the hub and the tires are BF Goodrich 33" ATs with plenty of life left in them. These tires are excellent both on and off the road, particularly sand, and help the fuel efficiency. This Jeep was professionally repainted a few years ago to the deep navy color it is now. The paint is still in extremely good condition, having been cared for and garaged. The seats have new covers and the front seat belts were replaced along with an updated Grant steering wheel, with a security disconnect. The Jeep also has a locking toolbox in the rear behind the bench seat. There are 2 soft, black full doors with detachable uppers. There is a matching full black Bestop soft top with a zip out rear window. I also have a grey bikini top with a matching grey rear windscreen which attaches to the roll bar and the floor, just behind the driver and passenger seats. Rust: This was a big question last time, and I'm going to list more this time. It really doesn't have much, and the couple of places it does have are not penetrating as far as I can tell. There is some superficial rust or discoloration near the center of the wheels; some of the hardware has a bit (a couple of screws, etc.); the rear gate has a little at the hinges; the toolbox has a bit; the tailpipe is a bit rusty; the center console has a bit where it attaches to the floor. I may have missed something, but I think that is all. Again, none of it is at all structural or penetrating. Nothing is rusted through or crumbling or anything even close to that. It just has some of the usual surface spots, and I only mention them because I would want to know if I were buying, but for the most part I don't even notice them. The floor is intact and rust free thanks to the rhino lining, as is the body itself thanks to keeping the paint fresh over the years. It is a Florida Jeep, so it is hard to keep it completely unblemished with the humidity, but it has been kept in extremely good condition for its age.Accident: This is something you might notice in the vehicle report, so I want to explain. There was virtually no damage (to the Jeep). I wasn't there, but my understanding is that it was a slow speed fender bender, and a glancing blow, which resulted in an accident report mainly because newer vehicles aren't made of steel, unlike the Jeep. Even though I was't there for the accident, I was there to see the Jeep right after, and I can attest to the amount of damage that was done to the Jeep - It was shockingly little. There is absolutely no Bondo or bodywork otherwise. The extent of the damage is a very slight dent on the front right fender (at the front over the wheel), and a small bend on the right end of the bumper. You can kind of see in the pictures if you look closely, and honestly it was so slight it didn't even need fixing (hence the "is" instead of "was"). So, all of the damage that occurred is in the pictures, and literally nothing was changed after the accident. It didn't even need a headlight replaced. Shipping: The buyer must arrange for pickup or shipping of the vehicle. I am happy to accommodate any requests the best I am able, but the responsibility is ultimately the buyer's to ensure proper pickup or delivery.Payment: A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 USD will be due via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction end in order to ensure performance. The remaining balance being due within 7 days of the end of the auction. Acceptable methods of payment are cash on pickup, wire transfer, or Certified Cashiers Check (transfer pending clearance). The Jeep is being sold as-is, where is, with no express or implied warranties. Seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time due to local listing. All sales are final.I would love to say this Jeep is in perfect condition, but nothing is perfect. I can, however, certainly say that it is in amazing shape for a classic - 28 years old! Thanks for looking!
