Vehicle Detail

If you are a fan of the famous Norm Grabowski "Kookie Car of the 1950s, I am sure you were as saddened by Norm's death a couple of weeks ago as the rest of the Hot Rodding Community. Here now available is a fast track to you having your own "Clone" of Norm's famous hot rod. The original seems to be lost forever, but this is as close a start on a nice copy as you may find...It will be an easy finish out. All spring perches are in place, and you can have the fun of locating the authentic parts that Norm used and create an exact replica, or just get out your Speedway Motors catalog, and order all new parts from them that will basically bolt on to this car, and look very similar to the original. You could find an original Cadillac 331 like Norm used, or simply dress up a small block Chevy to look the part. Either way, this could be a fun project to be authentic, or fun to just put it together with newer parts and hit the rod runs, freaking everyone out that you are driving the "Kookie Car"... I had even thought of doing a "Barn Find" version of the Kookie Car to really get attention. Here is what you get...This is a 1922 Steel Ford body. It has had all bad metal replaced along the lower edges. The cowl panels are new, and the door skin on the passenger side is new. The Body is channeled 6 inches as was the original car. It has all new one inch square tubing inner structure, new subframe, and new floor rails. It also has a steel custom filled dashboard, and the passenger door opens as it should. This is the Runabout body, which is a slight deviation from the Grabowski car which was made from the front half of a touring car, but you will appreciate the extra leg room of this Runabout version. The abbreviated bed is all steel as well and offers plenty of room for a fuel tank and battery. The bed has it's plywood touneou cover ready to upholster. Inside there is a new floor, and the seat frame ready to upholster as well. Up front is a chopped Aluminum 1932 Ford radiator shell just as the original car had. Much effort was put into replicating the paint job of the original car. Please compare this version to the 1957 paint on the original car and I think you will see that it is very accurate. This is a new paint job. this is a nice job, but understand that it was done to be a fun car, not to go and win the Autorama with. Yet you might be surprised at the attention this car is going to command once on the road...Moving to the frame. You will get a new frame custom made to replicate the almoost cartoon like stance of the Kookie Car. It is constructed of 3 X 2 rectangular tubing. All corners are gusseted. The front crosmember is made to replicate the original Grabowski car. Both front and rear spring perches are in place, and drilled to accept Ford three inch U-Bolts. The body is mounted to the frame with bolts that pass through the body structure and straight through the frame rails, with fiber lock nuts holding all in place. There are brackets to support the 32 radiator shell. This is a very solid foundation to begin your project, and it will same you months of looking and costly work to be at this nice starting point, that will let the project be a fun and quick one...There is no title, just a bill of sale for the frame and body. Please message me or call me at 575-805-5601 and I will be happy to answer any questions. I am super honest, and want the new owner to be happy and proud of what they are getting...Also note that I have the car stored just outside of El Paso, Texas, and that is where it will need to be picked up. It is closest to the Zip code 79835. I will meet you or your carrier there for the pick-up. I am starting this auction at a riduculously low amount, that would not even buy the paint job...I am also selling the car at no reserve...I will need a 100.00 deposit via PayPal at the immediate end of the auction, and pick-up and payment in full by cash within 7 days. I will store the car for you longer if you make full payment by some aggreed to and guarentteed means. The car is light. Two people can lift it into the back of a Pick-Up truck, or I am sure it would be affordable to have it shipped with a "U Ship" carrier. I will be glad to work with your carrier on getting the car loaded saftely. But again, I wil need payment in full before allowing pick-up by a carrier, or any delay in the 7 day pick-up time. Please bid only to buy. Please be sure you understand any "distance" issue of picking the car up, and if you are internaitonal, you need to educate yourself on the cost of shipping before bidding...I am offering a great project at a low price, so please treat me right, and I will work with you all I am able to...
