Vehicle Detail
I traded a Harley Sportster for this car because the bike was too small and my wife always wanted a bug. However, after realizing it doesn't have power steering and air conditioning, she fell a little out of love with it. The person I got it from said he did a restoration 7yrs ago and has been driving it as a daily driver. It has just over 77k miles on rebuilt engine. I have Recarro seats in it now but I also have the original front seats to go with it if the buyer would like. Upholstery of original seats is the same as the back seat and in decent condition. Tires are like new. The sunroof does work. The crank slips a little bit so it's easier if you help it along but it works just fine. There is some rust as you can see in the pictures. When the tank is full, the gasket on top of the gas tank leaks a little bit. I bought a new sending unit and gasket for it that will also come with the car. I'm not sure if the sending unit is bad or not but it tends to read empty when it is still about 3/4 full. I don't have time to mess with it. I've only had it for about 4 months and I don't drive it a lot but each time has been at least 30 miles. The first day I got it I drove it about 120 miles. It runs great, no problems at all and a lot of fun to drive. It will pass emissions but here in Colorado we don't have to get emissions on a car this old if we get collector's plates. Also, the collector's plates are good for 5yrs instead of renewing every year so I opted for that. I don't know a lot about these cars and I don't know much more than what I've said but I will try to answer any other questions you might have. Thanks for looking, Shane
