Vehicle Detail
1974 Karmann Ghia with a few enhancing Resto-Mods. Believed to be a South Carolina & North Carolina car all its life. It is a very solid example of a rare 74 model year with no apparent rust, outside of what a normal 38 year old car might reflect. The prone areas on these classics (trunk nose, bottom of doors, battery tray etc) are solid as seen in some of the pictures although the drivers side floor and maybe other appears to have been replaced or just reinforced. The car is awesome to look at and drive. With new paint, approximately 2 years ago, (as close to original color as possible) there are no visible dings and there is hardly a nick or scratch on the car, however, it is not perfect. Mileage shows 43006 but I'm guessing it is more than that. Motor, rebuilt, approximately 2500 miles ago, has Freeway Flyer gear ratio trans that shifts smoothly and cruises nicely at highway speeds. Brakes have been reconditioned (front disc), new switches, and believed to have a new clutch, new front shocks, new drive axles and new front ball joints. A new front windshield as well as new window seals, door seals, and newer trunk, lights and weather stripping seals all the way around the car. Chrome handles, headlight bezels and mirrors look like new, with again newer weather stripping seals. The bumpers could use some attention or re chromed, yet still very presentable. The interior is very nice with a new dash pad, a tight headliner with no known tears or rips, and new interior carpet. The seats are in great condition with only a seam split on the outside edge of the drivers seat. The light Mods include: An Empi shifter, a headed exhaust system, and new wheels. The rear end was raised 1” to accommodate the newer 165/80/R15 tires in the rear with slightly smaller 145/78/R15 tires on the front. This is a beautiful 74 Ghia that you will not be disappointed in. The awesome paint, color, exterior and interior alone, gets attention everywhere it is seen. I'm listing this Ghia on behalf of a friend and have attempted to describe to the best of my ability as possible. Car is Sold-As-Is without any implied warranty.
