Up for auction is my beloved Chevy Luv diesel truck. This is the shortbed 2-wheel drive with 5 speed manual. The truck was hit in the rear while parked and the title is salvage. True damage is minimal and accurately portrayed in the photos. Frame is undamaged (except minor at bumper connection) and crease in cab (easily repaired). This truck is awaiting a flatbed, (or custom...?) and minimal restoration. These trucks work great with custom beds (pics online). This was my intention, but a new family and other more pressing issues... I purchased this truck two summers ago from Missisippi where it had been since it came off the showroom in 1982. It was stored the past two winters, so it has never seen snow or salt. It shows. You are unlikely to find one of these with less rust. Paint is original, and photos document the minor surface rust (gutters, door opening drivers side). Paint is fading on hood and roof. Frame, rockers, undercarriage are super clean. Interior is better than average, with typical crack in top of dash and a loose glove box cover. Windshield has a crack. Trim is all complete. Bench seat and headliner are nice with no tares. The diesel engine and 5 speed manual transmission were replaced and have approximately half the mileage of the truck body. This is as claimed by previous owner who clearly babied this truck. All I can say for certain is the Isuzu diesel starts perfectly and runs like a clock, no exceptions. Air blows cold, great original LUV radio. I have gotten 40 mpg highway at 65 and always over 30 city driving. Transmission shifts smooth (as these go) and truck drives as tight as a drum. New front shocks installed and uninstalled new rear shocks will be included with the winning bid. Set of new tires has less than 200 miles logged. New front rotors and pads less than 500 miles ago. Extremely reliable fuel efficient vehicle. If you are not familiar with these engines, they are legendary. And you are not likely to find one of these trucks cleaner. In addition to rear shocks, winning bidder will also get an extra manual transmission. This is an UPGRADE not repair. The current transmission functions exactly as it should. However, as discussed on isuzu diesel forums, a specific later model isuzu truck transmission will bolt on and offers better performance. I have found one of these and included it if desired. I will also include the factory service manual. This truck is very reliable and mechanically able to drive home. Just be aware it has a salvage title and damage to tail light and bumper.
