Here is a 1946 Chevrolet 2-ton Dump Truck with no bed. Actually there was a wood one on it, but it was so rotted, estate workers were asked to remove it, as the bed falling apart while on the road could become a road hazard for the hauler. This old Chevy needs a new home and a major makeover. This is also the last truck from the 40’s we have to list from a farm estate.History: During their time, these classic 2-ton trucks had a 216 CI straight engine with 80.5 horsepower and 3000 RPM. Back in it's time, to have a truck like this with a hoist was a rare unaffordable luxury, and those that could afford it...it was heaven sent! This truck is from a farm estate in North Dakota, and these type of trucks are getting harder to find as most have gone to scrap. Before the farmer acquired this truck in 1969, it was used as a dump truck. It was painted baby blue with black fenders when he bought it. Back in the 70’s the farmer had set a farm fuel tank on the bed on the back and it was towed to field behind tractor/digger, it was not recalled if it was still running at the time. So, it’s assumed that it hasn’t been running for many years. It has a hitch on it. Other history prior to 1969 is unknown. Research shows this 1946 fellow was made in October at Janesville, WI. Original paint from firewall looks like it was painted a fire engine red, with black trim. This truck has a clear title that was last registered in 1969 and the P.R. of the estate will sign it over for whoever the new owner will be. Engine, transmission, radiator, hoist, cab top lights, and lots of other parts are still there, but again, it hasn’t been run for many years. Since not running, the hitch mounted on the front bumper could come in handy to load and unload this truck from a trailer and help get it into a shop. Tires are not good, half are flat, but it still rolls so could be loaded on a trailer. The driver door would not readily open for us, so we left it be for the photo shot as we did not want to do extra damage to it. Cab seat and floor is missing. Dents (see pics), and cracks/breaks in the glass. Steering wheel does not turn when towed. View pics for more details and condition. Measurements: Wheel base from center front to center back axle is approx. 160 inches. Right rear tire to left rear tire about 90 inches. Back of cab to back of frame, about 13 feet 10 inches. Total length with hitch upward, from front to back, about 23 feet 4 inches. Plus, we will tie to the truck frame these original flat metal bed trim pieces:Auction is to sell “As Is”, not running and no warranty. Storage until picked up will remain as it has been for years, outdoors. Winter is coming so we recommend having it shipped ASAP. Only 3 ½ miles off I-94 but future snow may hamper pickup if not picked up soon after auction ends. Figure hauling from Medina, ND 58467 to your location. We can also help load this vehicle on haulers trailer, but the hauler should have ramps to load. Could be a fun winter restore project, street rod project, or maybe raise the bed and put a cascading bunch of flower boxes as a bed on the back and turn it into a flower dumping lawn ornament. A new rat rod life might be a nice makeover for the cab. Or better yet, how about turning this fellow into a useful life again as a modified car hauler to take your favorite show baby to a car show with!
