TRUE BARN FIND!! I found this 1960 Caddy sitting behind a mans house in Spring Hill, FL about 8 years ago...Of course, the car was never for sale. I decided I had to have this car, and stopped by his house every couple years when I was working in the area to see if he had changed his mind about selling. Well.... persistence pays because in 2010 when I knocked on his door, he told me his wife recently told him that his cars had to go, or she would go! As you can see in the pictures, the guy built a carport, then blocked all the cars in with privacy fence so no one would see them. (I guess he got sick of people like me stopping by asking if they were for sale) So I have had the car for about 3 years now. Its been stored inside all the time, and I just have the motivation to tackle the project. So shes for sale! I bought the car under the intention that it was road ready once I put a battery and gas in it. Unfortunately, gas leaked out the bottom of the tank and there were other issues. I kinda wanted to do the rat rod thing at first, then later down the road, a full restoration. Original 390 V8 Engine - Runs, but rough. Compression is 160-170 in all cylinders. I converted the ignition to electronic eliminating the old points style. New plugs & wires, cap & rotor. Water pump was leaking, so I put a brand new pump on it. (around $300 for the pump) Just had the carburetor rebuilt, but I think it needs some tuning. The car moves on its own, but is not road worthy at this point of time. Radiator was gone through, and is in good condition. Car does have AC, and blower and controls work but AC does not blow cold. Original trans shifts through gears, but has a very bad fluid leak. Cragers in picture come with car, along with steel wheels and original set of hub caps! Brakes work, power windows work, wipers, lights, signals, everything works! This car is all orignal and unmolested!! Glass is in very good condition also. No cracks, chips, or scratches all the way around. Body: I have ALL the stainless trim for the sides. (not seen on car in pictures) ALL the stainless is in excellent condition!! No dents or damage at all. One piece on the car has a dent, and I have a replacement for it that comes with the car. The body has its normal issues that you would expect from a 1960 car. There is some rust in the floors and trunk pans. Doors and hood are really nice, no rust around windows or inside door jams. The bottoms of the fenders, and quarters had some work done before I bought the car. (Thats why there is grey primer on the car) The car is very workable.
