I found this car about 2 years ago in a pasture and it had been there since 1983. I was suprised to find the car was in good shape for being out as long as it was. The owner stated when he bought it in 83 it had a frame off rotesserie and was ready to paint but it just never happened. The car had no rust in the floors,trunk,rockers,and very minimal rear quarter above tires.This car still had the original 355 12 bolt rear end and everything else a true ss car has.It is an original 4 speed car with bench seat,power front dics brakes,non power steering car. I wanted to build it back to as original as possible. After I bought the car I had to pretty much replace anything mechanical on the car.This includes new rear brakes,brake springs,wheel cylinders,lines,calipers,brake booster,master cylinder,front pads,brake hoses,rear air shocks were added,u joints,clutch,clutch linkage,speedo cable,radiator,heater core,battery,3" flowmaster dual exhaust,gas tank,sending unit,and im sure ive forgot some stuff. Tires and wheels are new.As far as body parts bought I did buy new goodmark front fenders,steel inner fenders,radiator support (old one was damaged from getting pulled on in pasture years ago),body bushings and bolts,trunk lid,grille,grille extensions,and chrome on the extensions,and one rear patch on the quarter panel.Like I stated before the car had minimal rust so the rest of the car is all original rust free.When doing the work the car was stripped to bare metal and etching primer was used.The undercarriage was coated in por15 as well as the inside of floors and trunk. The transmission is a 1969 muncie close ratio 4 speed and it is like new with only about 400 miles since it was professionally all rebuilt.The rear end is the factory 12 bolt posi 355 gears kf061 are numbers on it. The current engine in the car is a new 468 bbc that was built by kc engines in kansas city.It has 10:2:1 compression,fully balanced rotating assembly,align bore,049 heads with 219/188 valves and port work,3/8 pushrods,comp camshaft,roller rockers,aluminum intake,new edelbrock 800 carb,hei ignition.The engine has less than 400 miles on it and it runs good.The car also comes with a 1969 396 engine I have that does need rebuilt. It is standard bore and I have a set of 781 heads with hardened seats that go with it. The interior of the car needs redone.I put new carpet,hurst shifter,and new rear seat shelf in. The rest of it is all original and headliner is out but the ribs are still in place.Everything works on the car and it drives good. All the glass is in good shape except for the winshield.It is not broke just has some streaks in it from the sunlight. I did all of the work myself on the car and all of these parts have been put on within this last year and there is not any problems mechanically with the car.I dont have the time to finish the car the way I would like to so thats my reasoning for selling it.
