Vehicle Detail
Up for auction I have an very original green 1967 Mustang Fastback S code (390 4v) 4-speed car. If your looking for a very cool big block fastback to restore or build a Bullet mustang then you have found it. History- I purchased this car from a fellow that had owned this car for over 30 years. He had driven the car up until about 10 years ago. His plan was to restore it but like many of us other things came up and the car just sat. Body: The body is very decent overall. I replaced the hood and the trunk lid because of underside rust. The front frame rails will require some work but just in front of the shock towers , it's not major. The top of the aprons where they overlap has some rust but again it's not a major issue to patch these areas. The roof is good, the fenders have surface rust , they may be useable but I would probably replace them. The drivers door looks ok from the outside but the front inside corner is rusted through so it will require replacing. The passenger side door is useable. Both quarters have some rust but could be patched , my intension was to replace them with lower skins (upper sections are nice). The trunk floors are nice and can be cleaned up as is, the rear frame rails are nice . The car will require front floor boards and a left torque box( please note : 67 cars only had one torque box). In the past I have used the one piece floor pan which makes the job much easier and looks more professional. I'm sure the cowl will require some attention , they generally do. All is all a very fixable car and well worth the work. This car has it's buck tag and apron vin , I have ordered a new door tag for the car and I have a clear title. Interior: The interior is complete, seats are there but rough (need foam and covers). This car still has all it's deluxe interior as well as it's tach cluster and correct wiring harness. This is an A/C car (none of the engine bay A/C parts are present( I do have a compressor ). The upper console is in place. The rear fold down seat is there except the dreaded speaker holes in the trap door. All trim on the inside is there and in good condition. Note: there is no lower console (per previous owner it never had one ). I was told it was a separate option even with the deluxe interior. Drive train: Car currently has a 302 4V with a C4. Last owner said it was rebuilt and ran but I would plan on the worse case scenario. In the trunk there is a big block bell housing, clutch fork and block plate. I'm including a 67 390 4V motor (date is not correct for the car). The 390 GT heads are very nice, correct 4V S intake , motor is apart but long block is there. The trans is a RUG 390 mustang trans, but not the original unit. This is a very nice trans , I don’t expect it will require a rebuild because it looks sweet inside (bought it for my other S code ) . The 4 speed pedals are still in the car. The correct 9" rear is in the car (not sure of ratio or if it's a open rear), car has it's original Kelsey Hays front disk brakes. Overview: This is a very nice project and well worth doing. Feel free to call me (540-538-6302 cell) if you have any questions, I have more pictures so email me if you want them. The car is located in Fredericksburg Va 22408.
