Vehicle Detail
Hi, I have a 1986 Toyota Van LE for sale. Look at the pictures, it speak for itself. Please remember this is a 26 year old van. I have owned it for less than two year; bought the van at 97,000 miles. Van drives great! Last spring during spring break I took a road trip to Arkansas, fully load with passengers and fully loaded gear, cruise control at 75-80mph average about 22mpg. Trims were taken off due to a damage at the driver rear wheel that happened some time ago, which dented the trim and a little bit of the body. It wasn't fixed by the 1st owner and finding another trim would be impossible (color matching, etc) and out of my expertise/tools/time. Under-body was painted with KBS rust paint and 2 coat of cheaper rust paint. Body is good shape, there is dings and dent on body, don't know if the picture will show it that great. I used everglass to cover the holes for the trims. This is my first time doing body work and I ran out of paint, wish I would had put another coat of tan on. Brown looks great. two coat of clear. If anything I would take it to the pro if it really bother you. Have a ton of paper work from 1st owner. He serviced the van at toyota, I couldn't afford to services it at toyota like he did. Here are some things I have done during my ownership. Converted r12 to 134. A/C stop working after the trip. I think it's probably due to a bad compressor. New radiator, plugs, rotor, cap and wires. Used alpine cd player with remote. Alpine 4" speaker in the dash (passenger side is blown) Infinity 6x9 3-way in the rear with box. Orion 500x4 amp. New battery. Flush radiator with toyota red. Mobil-1 synthetic oil. K&G Filter Replace a leaky brake line with new brake line Flush transmission fluid Silicone all spider gears for heats and a/c, helped but not much. New air filter (pain in the ass to get to) All new accessory belt Bad known issues Light for a/c-heater control out A/C not working Some spider gears are tough, I change them manually at locations, under dash and heater valve. Sometime hard to start, takes about 2-3 tires, random, a common toyota van issue, check connections at starter, everything good, it will start never stranded. Rust on the rear trunk. I trashed the rear bump, never got a trailer so I never welded a custom bumper with hitch. Auto tranny selector gauge (P, R, D, etc) doesn't move when you move, not hard to tell when you are in "D" or "R." Van is sold as is. It has many more years to come. Reason for selling: I don't drive it as much. I put 5,500 miles in almost two years including a round trip to Arkansas and back. I have to stock wheels cover in paint (sprayed van), tires are cracking. If you have any questions please email or text 414-736-3507, call last resort. If you want specific pictures text me your email. I will honestly say this van is a beast! On Oct-02-12 at 11:40:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Checked all power source today from the battery (made new connectors during system installation), fuse, ign switch, neutral safety switch, starter, everything has good power coming in and out. I redid the grounds to the body into a higher location a while back and that looks good. The ground to the tranny is a little bad due to rust and corrosion connection and bolt causing the hard to start random symptom. The bolt is not that high off the ground. Will redo another ground to the engine at a higher location and should slove the issue. Another issue I forgot to mention is that the driver windshield fluid does not squirt onto the windshield but will squirt into the cabin. The connection is off, don’t know why, but my hands are not small enough to reconnect it without taking the dash off. I don’t drive it in the winter so it doesn’t bother me. The bolt was broken off, snapped at some time. I used a small hose clamp to wrap around the whole thing where the bolt and threading was. It works wonders. Thanks. On Oct-06-12 at 19:08:01 PDT, seller added the following information: It was just one distributor bolt, the one farthest from the engine.
