Here is a 1946 Chevrolet 2-ton truck with no bed. This old Chevy needs a new home and a makeover. History: During their time, these classic 2-ton trucks had a 216 CI straight engine with 80.5 horsepower and 3000 RPM. This truck is from a farm estate in North Dakota, and these type of trucks are getting harder to find as most have gone to scrap. Back in the 70’s this truck had a farm fuel tank mounted on the back and was towed to field behind tractor/digger, then was driven back and forth between field and farmstead. So, it has a hitch on it. It hasn’t been running for many years. It was already painted baby blue when the farmer bought it in 1969. Use history prior to 1969 is unknown. Research shows this 1946 fellow was made in December at Janesville, WI. Original paint from firewall looks like it was painted green, probably with black trim. Then it was painted red with black trim. Last paint looks like a faded out baby blue. This truck has a clear title that was last registered in 1969 and the P.R. of the estate has signed it over for whoever the new owner will be. Engine, transmission, radiator and lots of other parts are still there, but again, it hasn’t been run for many years. Fun loving raccoons probably ran off the with spark plug wires. Since not running, the hitch mounted on the front bumper could come in handy to load and unload this truck from a trailer and help get it into a shop. Tires still hold air, lots of rib on tires but they have weather cracks. Cab floor is still there. Dents (see pics), and cracks in the glass. View pics for more details and condition. Measurements: From front bumper to rear bumper approx. 235 inches (or to end of rear frame minus rear bumper approx. 229 inches). From back of cab to rear bumper approx. 119 inches. From back of cab to center of rear axle approx. 82 inches. Width of rear frame one side to the other approx. 35 3/4 inches.Wheel base from center front to center back axle is approx. 160 inches. Auction is to sell “As Is”, not running and no warranty. Storage until picked up will remain as it has been for years, outdoors. Winter is coming so we recommend having it shipped ASAP. Only 3 ½ miles off I-94 but future snow may hamper pickup if not picked up soon after auction ends. Figure hauling from Medina, ND 58467 to your location. Could be a fun winter restore project, street rod project, or maybe just put a flower bed on the back and turn it into a lawn ornament. A new rat rod life might be a nice makeover for the cab.
