Vehicle Detail

1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS? "Less than 500 miles on drivetrain". All new or rebuilt parts for engine & transmission. "406" small block Chevy engine,Turbo 350 transmission,10 bolt rear end. It is a factory V-8 car & also a factory 4-speed car, Astro ventilation, factory console, factory wheel lip moldings. Car has factory power steering, drum brakes, was originally white & is black now. I was told it was a factory SS car, but I have no way to confirm that so I am selling it as a plain Camaro. It came with some SS stuff on it when I bought it. When it was painted they removed all the emblem's. We have owned the car since 2004. I bought the car with no engine & transmission. It had sat in a garage for over 30 years before I bought it. All the chrome is original & in good condition. It has an old lacquer paint job that has some typical lacquer checking in spots. It has the original floor pans which are good & the original trunk pan that is pretty solid(it has a few pin holes). The paint still shines & the body has very minimal rust(a few little bubbles in a few spots-nothing rusted through). I am not a body man, but everywhere I have checked has shown me that it has all the original body panels on it & I cannot find any body damage anywhere. The only repair that I have found was at the shifter tunnel. Someone cut the hole too big in the shifter area & it was patched with new metal. I built the car for my wife & she drove it a few times & said it is too radical for her so it has basically sat since 2007(last time it was licensed). I drive it short distances when I can, but it is a waste to just let it sit. If it doesn't sell I will just keep it for myself & get it painted. The car runs & drives excellent, I would drive this car anywhere, any distance. The interior is nice, new seats, headliner is like new, carpet is ok, but not original, door panels are nice but some dork put speakers in the doors. All brakes are good(cleaned & adjusted-wheel bearings packed & new seals). Brand new Cragar SS wheels & new Kelly tires-275/60R15(rears) 165/R15(fronts). I will do my best to list everything. Remember the engine/transmission/driveline/wheels & tires have less the "500 miles" on them. The engine is all rebuilt, it has new Dart iron heads, aluminum roller rockers(they are gold-I don't remember the brand), coated headers, Edelbrock aluminum Performer intake, Edlebrock carburetor, GM spark plug wire separators, 8mm GM wires, Procomp electronic distributor, GM valve covers, waterpump, 3-core radiator, heater core, all new hoses, chrome fuel pump, chrome 100 amp(1-wire alternator), starter, flexplate, oil pump, chrome oil pan, chrome thermostat housing, MSD Blaster 2 coil, new motor mounts, new battery & battery tray. Turbo 350 transmission(completely rebuilt), B&M 2000-2200 stall (Hole Shot converter), B&M shift kit & new transmission mount. Driveline has all new u-joints & was balanced. Brand new 2.5 inch aluminized exhaust system all the way out with new Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. All new lock cylinders(doors, trunk, glove box). It has a rear spoiler & new steel cowl hood. You could just drive it like it is, it is a 10 footer or put a paint job on it & always have money in the bank. If you took care of this car you would never lose money on it. It gets attention wherever we take it, it sounds really nasty. Not sure of the camshaft, but it has a really good lope to it(pretty lumpy cam). I have been watching comparable Camaro's on Ebay & put the reserve where I feel is fair. We have a ton of money invested in the car. I don't need to sell it, just hate seeing it sit. Hopefully someone will buy it & drive it. I can get you a short video of it running so you can hear the engine. I want whoever buys it to inspect the car or have it inspected, I welcome that & encourage you to do so. I want whoever buys it to know exactly what they are getting & want them to be more than happy with the car. The car is ready for inspection pretty much anytime, just call & we can set it up. Everybody's opinion's are different. The car is 44 years old now, it isn't perfect but a good solid old car. Serious buyer's only please. Please have your finance's in order before you bid. A $2000.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close & payment "in full" is due within 3 days of action close. A bank transfer or cash only payment, no checks. Thanks for looking. If you have any questions please call me at 509-701-3633. I have pictures of pretty much the whole car available or I can get you pictures of whatever you want. I have the car listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. On Sep-18-12 at 22:28:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Items I forgot to add-new power steering box & power steering hoses, new speedometer cable, new blower motor. The Camaro has factory multi-leaf springs, factory front sway bar. It has gas shocks, traction bars, chrome fender support bars, all the glass is good (the window's are tinted-but not the best job). The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. I am willing to store the car for a short time (no more than 30 days after it the auction is over) if you need a little extra time to arrange shipping. But the vehicle must still be paid in full within 3 days of auction close. Vehicle is sold as is no warranty. I have a lot more recent pictures available now if you would like to look at more let me know (they only allow 24 pictures total on Ebay). Thanks for looking, someone is going to get a good car. On Sep-20-12 at 09:22:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked a few times now whether the Camaro is a SS model or not. I am trying to confirm whether the Camaro is a SS or not for sure, I am not a Camaro expert but I have been told that it is a SS car. Like I said before, when we bought it, the car had SS stuff on it & I have confirmed that it is a real V-8 & 4-speed car for sure. It also has multi-leaf springs which I believe is mandatory for a V-8 car. I know those facts don't confirm it or not, but it had to have those things to be a SS car. I have tracked down the guy that I bought the car from & he is trying to contact the owner he bought it from & remembers that guy talking about a "Protecto-Plate". So I will keep trying to track that down. If I can locate the "Protecto-Plate" that will tell us for sure what the car started life as. A few things to add, remember the car has be stored inside it's whole life-which is why the body & chrome are in such nice shape for a 44 year old car. We have had the car for going on 9 years now & when I bought it I was told it had been basically just sitting in a garage for around 30 years. So that adds up to a lot of sitting & not much time at all on the road. You can tell this car has not been abused in anyway. You don't find many Camaro's these days with the original body panel's. Also all the seats are like brand new, the actual cover's on the seats have never been sat on. Since they were recovered we have put either a blanket or sheet on the seats before sitting on them. The trim for the seats is all new also (all new knob's/hinge cover's/bump stop's etc.). If the car does not hit my reserve, I will work with the highest bidder & see if we can work out a deal. Thanks On Sep-25-12 at 14:56:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Look at item number 330793067279 (68 Camaro-blue). It "sold" for $18,989.00 & it may have had a little bit better paint, but still had rust & needed a paint job to be nice. And the engine & drivetrain has way more miles on it than mine. Also look at item number 160872914231 (68 Camaro-black). It "sold" for $12,500.00. It has a ton of rust & much needed body work & paint. And I am not sure how many miles were on that drivetrain & the interior was kind of ratty also. I am not trying to knock other people's cars but apple's to apple's I think my car is worth what I am asking for it, if those sold for what they sold for. Thanks for the interest. You can reach me at 509-701-3633. I had to re-list vehicle due to non-paying bidder. He bid on car with no intention of paying. He contacted me 5 hours before auction was over & tried to buy the car cheap, I told him that I was sick all day & hadn't looked at the auction in over 10 hours & needed to see where the auction was at. Once I looked at the auction & seen that I had a "real bidder", I told him that I had to sell it to the highest bidder by Ebay rules. He hadn't even bid on my car yet. I told him I had to go to bed & was going to let the auction run it's course & I would sell the car to the highest bidder. The next morning I seen that the "pretend" bidder ended up being the high bidder. So he doesn't want to pay what he bid & then sends me negative feedback! I have been a great Ebay customer/seller since 2006, you can contact anyone I have done business with & they will tell you the same thing. I had perfect feedback until then with no issue's at all (buying or selling). I have sold 2 vehicle's on Ebay & the buyer's are more than happy with their vehicle's. Beware of that guy.
