Vehicle Detail

This is a rare opportunity to own one of the most sought after limited edition Mustangs. Here is the basic information that everybody has about the car; The 7-UP Connection The 7-UP Bottling Company was to give away thirty of these cars at the 1990 National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball finals in the United States. In an audience participation contest, anyone sinking a basket from centre court with one try, was to drive home in one of the cars. At the last minute, the contest was canceled. 1990 Limited Edtion Mustang Convertible - General Information Production of these cars started in December of 1989, with only two cars being built. Full production began February 2, 1990 with the final car being built May 29, 1990. The convertibles all started out as coupes, and had the hardtop removed prior to shipment to Cars & Concepts of Brighton, MI. The plan was to build 5,000 but only 4,103 were built. The breakdown of the production numbers is as follows: - Total production: 4,103 - Number of 5-Speeds: 1,360 - Number of Automatics: 2,743 - Number of vehicles exported: 261 The 1990 Limited Edition LX Convertible has some features which differentiate it from other Mustang models. These features include: - Deep Emerald Green Clearcoat Metallic Paint (code PA) - Colour-keyed body side moldings, fascia moldings and side view mirrors - White Leather Interior - White Convertible Top - 15" GT Aluminum Wheels All 7-UP cars came with the 225 horsepower 5.0 EFI engines, but for those who wanted more, Steve Saleen provided an aftermarket supercharger installation. At least a dozen cars were so equipped. Condition This car is, for the most part, an all original, unmolested example. The top operation works flawless. The top will need replaced however. I do have the original white boot cover which looks great snapped on. Underneath the hood as much as I know with modifications, it has a K&N filter and aftermarket intake and flowmasters. The paint is in fair condition but does have it some flaws and scratch on the back bumper, front bumper and hood. I would rate the paint at a 6 out of 10. The interior is in great shape minus the driver's seat, which has typical wear and some tears, but the others are in great condition. As you should know, this is basically like a fully loaded GT with power everything (mirror, lumbar, leather) but with the LX body style. It even has the GT rims. This car is one of the 1360 5-speed manuals, a must have in any Mustang. This is for someone who will truly appreciate and respect the Limited Edition and it's rarity and someone who knows the potential value of this car in the years to come as a collector's car. The previous owner and I left the by-pass for the heat off, (I have the part) because we never drove it in the winter. The LX 5.0 7-up came originally with GT rims that I do have with good tread on 2 and about 3-4/32 on others. The set of Cobra rims can be negotiated with the deal. I like all original, but the cobra rims with 245/45/17's really make this car look stunning with the LX exposed exhaust pipes. The car runs great! I just replaced the ignition control module. Conclusion The car is going to need a top, heater core, seat repair, and waxed / wet sanded but other than that being that it is 1 of 1360 5speeds, a convertible, and color combination limited edition will give you years and years of enjoyment plus a return on your investment. A very strong candidate to make it a flawless car. I would like to talk to anyone to answer questions so there isn't any mis-representations and to work out deal structure with rims etc....call Bill 412-951-4455. Please serious inquiries only with cash. no exceptions. Bottom line, I need a buyer who will give it the attention and appreciation it truly needs with a garage! **As a token commemoration of the Mustang’s 25th anniversary, Ford placed a small running horse emblem engraved with the words “25 Years” on the passenger side dash of all Mustangs manufactured from mid-April 1989 to late production 1990. This, of course, included Mustangs from both model years 1989 and 1990. Mustangs sold during this time period also had the same running horse emblem pictured in the background of the window sticker. After 1990, the running horse emblem remained on the dash without the “25 Years” engraving at the bottom.
