SLIDESHOW WITH 100+ PICTURES https://picasaweb.google.com/114906239666294800176/96Cummins2500#slideshow/5787094312184794450VIDEO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBbXFbn0314 1996 Dodge Ram 2500HD 4x4 SLT Laramie HO 12-Valve Cummins Turbo Diesel 5-Speed Manual Let me start off by saying this is the nicest 12-Valve you will find. It is a true one-owner truck, and the original title is included with the sale. This truck has been kept garaged every night of its life and waxed regularly. The effort that went into keeping this truck in the condition it’s in certainly did not go to waste. -High Output 12-Valve Cummins Turbo Diesel, more on this later -New Venture 4500 (NV4500HD) 5-Speed Manual Transmission -4x4 -New Process 241 (NP241DLD) Transfer Case -Dana 60 Front Axle with 3.54 Gearing -Dana 80 Posi Rear Axle with 3.54 Gearing and Limited Slip -202,426 babied original miles -Clean original Idaho title in hand -Warn 8000LB Winch -Bright White and Light Driftwood Satin Glow two-tone exterior paint -Rare Driftwood (Spruce) interior -Club Cab Long Bed (8’) -Matching Michelin tires on all four corners with at least 85% tread Mechanical This truck is equipped with the legendary 12-Valve Cummins Turbo Diesel, known as the “Million Mile Motor”—and for good reason. These engines are known to break in at around 100,000 miles, and last up to a Million miles with proper maintenance. This particular 12-Valve is certainly on the right track with all maintenance being done at proper intervals and using only Cummins (Fleetguard) filters and Cummins-endorsed engine oil. I know this, because I have every record of every oil change. The two main problems with the 12-Valve and the 5-Speed manual are the Killer Dowel Pin and 5th Gear Nut (read up on these) and both of these issues have been taken care of on this rig. The transmission, transfer case, and differentials have been serviced at proper interval and with all correct OEM fluids. Front end parts, brakes, and suspension have all been recently serviced and need no work done. This truck is absolutely bone stock right down to the exhaust with the original catalytic converter and the stock air box. This truck does have a K&N air filter installed in the original air box. The tires have been recently replaced with Michelin street tires and have about 85% tread remaining, all with even wear. With this truck being from Idaho it does not have California emissions meaning NO EGR. EGR is very detrimental to the performance and longevity of the 12-Valve and you cannot have a High Output (215HP) truck with EGR, as those were governed at 195HP. This truck has the 215HP (HO) pump and the power difference between a 160HP or even a 175HP is very noticeable. This is the 1st 1996 truck I’ve seen with the 215 pump, most of them had the 175, making this truck somewhat rare in that aspect. This truck still has the tamper-proof screw in the AFC housing, which means the fuel has never been turned up. This truck has only been serviced with OEM Cummins or Dodge parts and has a new starter, alternator, vacuum pump, fuel shutoff solenoid, etc. recently installed. This truck needs nothing and is ready to drive cross-country. Exterior The exterior on this truck is by far the cleanest I’ve seen. This truck has really never worked, hauled, or been abused and it shows. Even the original paint in the bed has minimal flaws and still shines like new. This truck was undercoated when new to prevent rust, and it worked. There is no rust anywhere!!! The paint on the truck is in excellent condition. There is one tiny scratch on the bottom of the passenger side door—see pictures. There is also a couple little rock chips on the hood and a couple more where they would fling up from the road. The bumpers are in perfect condition, front and rear. There is a chrome brush guard up front which holds a Warn 8000LB winch, which works just like new. The owner says he’s pulled a couple trucks out with it and it’s worked just fine. The original chrome wheels shine like new and have no scratches. All the lights and signals work. No gooseneck or fifth wheel has ever been installed. The only other flaw is the side molding on the body has a small chrome strip which is beginning to peel—see pictures. Interior The interior is the rare Spruce color (most Dodge interiors are grey) and it looks literally new with almost no signs of wear. The dash has had a cover on it since new and is perfect. The seats have had custom made seat covers installed since new, and consequently are excellent. The seat covers are included with the sale. The headliner is in perfect shape and even the carpet has no stains! I haven’t even cleaned this carpet—it has always been this clean, due in part to the plastic floor trays that have been installed since new. Everything works on the inside including: air conditioning, heater, power windows, power locks, cruise control, radio, CD player, dome lights, glove box light, under hood light, etc. The only spot that shows any kind of wear on the interior is the piping on the edge of the driver’s seat, it has a couple cracks—see pictures. This truck does have a Sony Xplod stereo with auxiliary input and a CD player. Also comes with a working remote. Documentation This truck comes with everything—need I say more? I have every single record of everything done to the truck. I have all the original purchase information, Dodge catalogs, build sheet and even the original window sticker. I have both original keys and a couple spares. Also have all the original owners manuals. Also have the catalog from the winch. This is not a truck you see every day. It is truly one in a million, these trucks are normally worked hard and it shows—this one has been babied and treated like a Ferrari. It was an old man’s pride and joy, and he let it go because he bought a 6.7 Cummins as his wife wanted something newer. You will love this truck, and you will certainly not find a cleaner-kept one. This truck drives nicer than even an 80K mile Cummins I used to have. If you’d like to come see the truck pre-sale, that can be arranged. I am fairly flexible on when we can meet. The truck has a current trip permit on it until 9/30. Fly in and drive her home, this truck is worth the trip. I drove the truck home from Eagle, ID recently, taking the long way through Oregon. Was about a 1400 mile trip, and the truck didn’t miss a beat. Cruising on the highway at between 62-70MPH I got an astonishing 22-23MPG. No other diesel gets that kind of mileage, especially the newer ones. Please call me at 805-657-5758 if you have any questions about the truck or want to come see it. I don’t take calls after 10PM pacific time. You can send me an eBay message if that’s easier for you. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. I am only accepting CASH for this truck, no cashier’s checks, no money orders or anything else. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours via Paypal or in person, full payment due in person within 7 days. No shipping. Note- if you plan to fly in, LAX or Burbank airport are your best bet. Roadrunner shuttle costs $50 from LAX to my house—roadrunner is the shuttle to take as Thousand Oaks is their first drop off. Please check out my photo album and video of the truck!
