For CBX Enthusiasts, this was the bike customized by Jim Petsoules. It's been in the family since 1979. It was a show bike for many years, never winning anything less than 1st place in its class. The Honda CBX1000 was the fastest "stock" motorcycle when it was introduced. The twin-cam 24-valve 6 cylinder engine produced 105 bhp. The last model was built in1982. The 1979 model's quarter mile time (at almost 118mpg) clocked in at 11.36 seconds. At the time it was faster than any other superbikes on the road. This model only lasted 5 years. But it set the bar for all the Honda touring bike styles after the CBX. In 2011, 2 Wheels Magazine (an Australian publication), named the CBX1000 as one of their favourite 12 superbikes ever. This bike has been taken apart so that every part has been either chromed or gold plated or painted. It was shown at car & bike shows mostly in the Western Pennsylvania, Ohio & West Virginia areas.
