Vehicle Detail

1963 Chevy Nova Wagon Damn this car is awesome! Definitely the biggest attention-grabber I've ever owned! Call this what you want: hot rod, rat rod, surf mobile, etc. Whatever you call it, it's badass! I traded my bagged fullsize truck for this a couple months ago to a local guy because I wanted a 60's Chevy car bad. Found this and fell in love. I hate to sell it but I really need to pay off my credit cards ASAP. If I didn't sell it, I'd be bagging it right now. So before I change my mind and not sell it, here's the specs: -Straight-6 motor (194) that was rebuilt by the previous owner -3 speed on floor, new shifter (chrome B&M Daytona shifter) & shift knob (solid white 2" ball from HotRodShiftKnob.com) -Clutch is good and shifts fine, just gotta double clutch it from 1st to 2nd -New distributor, battery, and air filter -New exhaust, exits in front of rear wheel, no muffler ($30 fix if it bothers you) -New brakes and master cylinder, actually stops pretty decent (drums all around) -New floor pans, just needs carpet ($200), patch panels are not 10/10 perfect but they are good, everything back underneath is very nice! -Seats and door panels have been wrapped -Paint is Hot Rod Flatz light aqua on the bottom and glossy Corvette white on top -Badass pinstriping on hood, tailgate, and dash. Also has pinstriped flames down the sides. (was all done by an amazing local pinstriper) -Lowered a good amount, perfect stance! -Newer tires with Portawalls -Steelies painted to match with new baby moons, spare wheel/tire in the back (appears to be original) -Roof rack with old surfboard -Has an old "trunk" in the back that comes with it, has some random parts in it -CD player and 1 speaker in dash haha -Billet steering wheel with matching half-wrap -All lights work (except one front turn signal, probably a bulb), wipers work, heat works -Speedometer cable needs hooked up, so speedo does not work and miles are unknown -Gas, temp, and oil gauges seem to work fine -All windows roll up and down fine except front driver side. You can roll it up about halfway then it feels like something is stripped on the handle. If you want the window all the way up, it's easy to manually pull it up, it feels good and tight. -Most of window seals are not too good, those should be replaced if it really bothers you -The headliner just seems dirty and maybe some stains here and there, but seems in really good shape -There is some surface rust in places, but this car is in really good shape for being 50 years old. A few bodywork areas but nothing terrible. Everything about the way the car sits makes it awesome. -Once the car is warmed up, it runs and drives pretty good. I jump on the highway all the time with no worries. Steering is a little loose, but I wouldn't say it's sloppy. Rides really smooth. The shocks in the front have bottomed out maybe a couple times because they are the stock length. In the trunk are drop shocks that will fix that problem, but I'm used to swerving pot holes so I haven't replaced them. -All glass is good, all doors open and close as they should This car was also featured on Kustoms & Choppers Magazine's website: http://kustomsandchoppersmagazine.com/2012/06/13/surf-wagon/ Again, I hate to sell this but I really need the money. Ask me any questions you want and I'll give you my honest answer. I don't want to hide anything or mislead anyone or sell the car on bad terms. You'll love this car and get asked a million questions everytime you stop for gas. If you live by a beach (I'd be jealous), this car will fit in way too perfectly. I am going to upload a video on Sunday so check back for that, and I'll upload any other pics I take. Keep in mind, this is a 50 year old driver, this is not a best of show, museum quality, award winner. It has it's bumps and bruises. I call it character. A car like this tells a story just by looking at it. I take care of it, but I don't have to worry about it. Get in, drive it, take it to a cruise-in, take it home, park it in the garage (I always keep it in the garage), crank up some rock music, and sit your beer can on the hood without freaking out. This car will go perfect with your man cave, vintage garage decor. Since this is an old used car, it's being sold as is with no warranty. I have a clear title in hand. It's up to the buyer to arrange for payment and pickup. I need a $200 deposit through PayPal within 48 hours and the rest due within 7 days. I can deliver the car for a fee. I'd trust driving it for a few hours, but I probably wouldn't drive it to Alaska. haha. I will accept cash, cashier's check, or money order in person when you pick up the car. Again, let me know if you need additional info and I'd be happy to talk your ear off (or email inbox). You'll love this car, it's really kickass. Thanks for looking! Now onto some killer pics. Enjoy! On Sep-19-12 at 12:00:40 PDT, seller added the following information: A few people have asked about how the car runs. If it has sat for several days, and you go to start it, it hesitates at first and idles a little rough once started for a few minutes. Once it warms up and you're on the road it seems fine to me. If you try to floor it or accelerate really fast, it seems to hesitate sometimes. The previous owner said he rebuilt it, I'm not sure how long ago. But again, once on the road and out driving it around, everything seems fine to me. This is not a high-performance car and no one will be impressed when you open the hood. This is not a car that you will be racing anyone with, except maybe a moped. Haha. It's just meant to be a cool ass cruiser that gets tons of attention and is fun to drive. And when shifting, it goes in from reverse to first or first to reverse really good. Same with 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd. When going from 1st to 2nd, take it out of 1st, release the clutch, push in the clutch, put it into 2nd. And I only go back to 1st when it's at a dead stop. It's just how these old trannys work. If you get it and decide you don't want to shift anymore, get on craigslist and find a 2-speed Powerglide for cheap and bolt that up. I've seen several for $75-$150 around here. Last but not least, here are a few videos I took today. My work schedule and the weather have not been cooperating at all this week. So again, sorry for the delay. I have tried my best to explain everything and show everything with photos and videos. Please ask any questions before bidding, and don't bid if you don't have the funds ready to purchase it. Thanks, enjoy, and good luck bidding!
