Vehicle Detail

Up for bids is a 1983 Mercedes Benz 300CD. As you probably already know these are pretty rare cars. This one has the reliable Mercedes Benz 5 cyl. diesel engine, with automatic transmission. I have owned several Mercedes diesels and planned on never selling this one, BUT I have found a airplane project that I am going to pursue. So, I thought I may sell this car and put the money towards the airplane project. The odometer shows just over 160,000 miles, but it has not worked since I have owned it. No idea how many miles it has. The car is hard to start first time of the day. It has a miss at idle, once it revs up it smooths out and goes! I bet it is a injector, but it never was a big issue, so I just drove it. The car climbs hill and accelerates just fine. It just misses at idle. For the details of the car. I found this car in a large auto dealers lot over 5 years ago. It had been sitting for about 3 years. I bought it from them and brought it home, where I got it running and have been gradually restoring it. I had the rear seats re upholstered. The fronts are not too bad, so I figured I would wait on them until they got worse. I had the AC charged and it works great. All windows work, the sunroof works, all outside lights work. Dash lights work, I added a Sony AM/FM/CD I pod ready radio. New JVC speakers. Sounds great. I had the car painted a couple years ago. Looks good from about 5 feet away. There is only one spot where it is rusted out, and it's just under the front valance panel. (see photo) The car is pretty straight overall. Only a couple small parking lot dents to be found. The L rear body moulding is missing. It was torn up in the painting process and never replaced. You can get one from Mercedes Benz. Tires are just over half worn. Still have plenty of life left. I drove this car myself on many road trips. I would not hesitate to take off 500 miles RIGHT NOW. The cruise does not work, the gas gauge just quit, I am looking into fixing that, MAY NOT BY AUCTION END. This is a NO reserve auction! I am not looking to end the auction early. (unless I get a great offer) So bid to win! No trades, No trades. $200.00 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end via paypal. Balance due within 10 days of auction end. I can store the vehicle for you for 30 days of auction end. NO charge. If you need more information, you may call 270-659-9450 or 270-670-5372.
