Vehicle Detail

1998 Toyota 4-Runner For Sale I am selling my 1998 4Runner. This is a very dependable, reliable and all-around bomb-proof 4x4. Color is a Champagne/Silver, tan interior, has a 3.4L V6 and Automatic Transmission. The 4-wheel drive is an actual gear lever, which many people prefer to the push button 4wd. This 4Runner is in good cosmetic condition, and drives great. There is only 1 small rust spot on the passenger side rear wheel arch that is mostly covered by the fender flare. There is absolutely no rust under the doors and bumpers, which are usually the rust problem areas for these SUV's. Power Windows, Power Locks (has keyless entry, but I do not have the remote), Power Steering, sunroof/moonroof, cruise control, adult driven. The 4Runner has 188K miles on it, but these Toyotas will go for 350,000 + with minimal maintenance. I have had this truck for about two years, and it never lets me down. The previous owner had installed a mild lift kit, (probably 2" or 3" lift) with Old Man Emu Shocks, larger, aggressive BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. There is also a performance exhaust which is louder than stock, but it isn't obnoxious like some can be. I upgraded the stereo with a Double-Din Pioneer unit with iPod control, Bluetooth hands-free and CD/AM/FM. I also installed new Alpine speakers in all 4 doors. All of the side and rear windows are professionally tinted (not that cheap stuff that bubbles or turns purple). There is an excellent Yakima bike rack on the roof, with two working rails for bikes. The oil is changed every 3,000 (and done within the past 100 miles) as well as a new cold air intake. I installed new plugs and wires 6 months ago. Engine, Transmission and Transfer Case all work exactly as they should. Overall, the car is very clean inside and out. It is cleaned, maintained and cared for regularly. I currently ONLY drive this car when it rains, when I cannot ride my motorcycle, so additional mileage will be minimal. This is a great, reliable, safe and handy car that is well suited for just about any situation, type of use and type of driver. •BODY/EXTERIOR: The paint is very good and original. The only area of rust is behind a fender flare on the wheel well of the passenger side rear door (pictured without fender flare pulled back, AND with fender flare pulled back to expose the rust. Shallow/small dent on the hood, barely noticeable door ding. Otherwise, body is very straight and free of damage. The "TOYOTA" badge on the tailgate is missing.•ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN: The engine runs very well, feels strong, no knocks, no smoke, no major oil leaks. The valve covers seep some oil after a while as they tend to loosen up over time (common on 4runners). I usually tighten them down at every oil change, and any "seeping" stops. Transmission shifts well. Transfer case works exactly as it should, and sometimes takes a few feet to disengage from 4WD, which is completely normal. •ELECTRONICS: Lights and signals work, except for the high beams. I am currently trying to single out this problem, and it may be fixed by the time the car is purchased (but not guaranteed). It is a switch or relay. The tachometer is a little slow to respond/innacurate, but I never bothered to fix it since it's an automatic and I don't drive this truck aggressively. Newer Pioneer Double Din stereo, with iPod hookup and handsfree bluetooth that connects to your cell phone. The motorized antenna receives stations, but does not retract. All windows and sunroof work (even the tailgate window!)•BRAKES/TIRES/WHEELS: ABS Brakes are in good working order, but there is sometimes a SLIGHT shimmy on initial braking at highway speed (not dangerous or performance affecting on the braking ability). Brakes have plenty of pad left. Tires are BFGoodrich All-Terrain Tires, and will need to be replaced eventually, but they will probably last at least another 6-mos to a year. The wheels look very good from a few feet away, but up close show their age, and average wear on the alloy finish. •Interior: Seats are extremely clean. Carpet shows some age and wear, but in good shape for the age. There is a small to medium tear in the drivers seat near the door. It has been there since I bought the car 2 years ago, and has not gotten any worse. The console shows some wear on the armrest (pictured). The previous owner "trimmed" the plastic portion of the instrument cluster that surrounds the stereo opening. It doesn't look too terrible, but it's there. Most people don't even notice it, so it wasn't worth the $200+ to replace that piece. New rubber/carpet floor mats. The title is clear and in-hand. The Carfax shows no incidents. Interested buyers near Cincinnati, OH are welcome to see and drive the 4Runner before bidding. I reserve the right to end this ad at anytime if the car sells locally. I am willing to work with delivery companies, but you must make the arrangements and pay all delivery expenses. I am willing to deliver this car within 250 miles of Cincinnati, Ohio at $1.00 a mile. I have listed the details as specific as I can so you know exactly what to expect. This vehicle is sold AS-IS, NO WARRANTY. I require $200 (NON-REFUNDABLE) deposit within 48 hours of winning bid. Cash, or POSTAL Money Order is required on delivery, or before the car is released to a delivery service. Bank or Cashier's check is OK, but I will not release the car until the check is cashed/cleared. If you would like to use another type of payment, please ask first. Thank You. On Sep-18-12 at 09:24:20 PDT, seller added the following information: There is a small chip in the windshield (no cracks).
