1966 GTO Hardtop, counsel automatic PHS documentation verifies this GTO with a numbers matching YS block and heads. I was told by the previous owner that the original 3.23 gears and powerglide transmission have been swapped out to a 3.55 POSI and a TH400 trany, but I have not confirmed this. This car has power steering, but DOES NOT have power brakes. I purchased this car 10 yrs ago and was going to have it restored but the second child came and the car got put into storage for 10 yrs. The man I purchased it from did not drive or work on the car, he bought it road side and sold it to me via the internet. I have not worked on the car either. This car is in decent condition for it's age, but should be restored. The engine starts easily and sounds great, but it does blow smoke and most likely needs a rebuild. The tranny leeks oil and probably needs to be done as well. I have driven the car several times over the years. The engine runs well, but it is missing some of the power that it should have. The rear quarter panels and rear bumper show some damage and rust. The car was rear ended at some point, which is hard to see in the photos. It does not look like anything major and I have two new rear quarter panels, as well as a replacement bumper and taillight, that come with the car. The car drives straight. The trunk has some small rust spots as well ( a replacement trunk pan kit is included with the car). Other things that I have noticed are: There is rust on the quarters, inside the door jam as well as under the Vinyl top. The driver's seat has a tear in the leather. The drivers door handle is pulling away from the door panel and needs to be fixed, perhaps a new door panel. The dash is warped and is comming up on the passenger side( a replacement dash is included with the car). The headliner is loose in some spots and there are a few small holes in the liner. The vinyl top looks to be in good condition, but there is definately some rust underneath the vinyl. The tires and exhaust appear to be in good condition. The rear of the car is saging too much and the car bottoms out. An air lift kit for the coils is included, but the coils should be replaced during a restoration. I am not a mechanic, so I will answer any questiosnas the best I can. I would like to suggest that this car is for somebody who is looking for a Goat to restore. The car is being sold as is.On Sep-12-12 at 14:53:31 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION UPDATE: In the original description I indicated that this vehicle comes with a replacement bumper. I just inspected the replacement bumper and found out that it has damage as well. This car will need a new rear bumper. Both rear bumpers, the one on the car and the replacement one have damage. Also, I had somebody looking at the car today who is a mechanic with restoration experience. We noticed that both doors have a rust whole at the bottom. Nothing too major, but I would like to be upfront that we found the more rust. We also saw that there is some significant rust underneath the car on the rockers and he felt would need to be replaced.
