Private collector is offering this BEAUTIFUL garage kept and well maintained 1977 Mercedes Benz 450 SL Roadster to make room for a new acquisition. This 1977 Roadster from California was offered at the Arizona Auction several years ago and purchased by an Oklahoma Horse Breeder as a gift for his wife who brought it to Oklahoma where I later purchased it. I believe I am the third owner and have owned this vehicle for a couple of years. The mileage was 69,219 when I purchased it, and it now reads 70,326. My collection is mainly "HIGH POINT" concours quality automobiles. This 1977 Mercedes 450 SL DOES NOT meet that standard or level, but is a very presentable 35 year old example of a Model 107 Mercedes Benz Roadster. I have used this vehicle for pleasure drives and local/area "Car Shows" in which the participants of the show determine (through voting) the various class winners. This car is very well received in these types of car shows/events. It's VIN is 10704412 041759. While this vehicle is NOT concours quality, IT IS certainly COLLECTIBLE. The experts predict that the high quality and well maintained 107's of today will un-doubtedly rise in value over time when the current market of low quality, worn-out and abused 107's make their way to the grave yards. View all the 107's being offered, finding nice vehicles is getting very difficult. PLEASE COMPARE! This Mercedes comes with (2) two sets of wheel covers, one set in BLACK, and one set in the original factory matching color of Colorado Beige. I present the car using the BLACK wheel covers with the black soft top. When I present the car with the hard top I use the matching Colorado Beige wheel covers. Just look at the pictures: The car takes on two DIFFERENT personalities and appearances! The photos speak for themselves. The body of this vehicle is straight and shows no signs of any body work whatsoever. Rust free. Please COMPARE! The paint is all original, has a BRIGHT finish and even has the factory "UN-LEADED GAS ONLY" sticker above the fuel door opening (see photo). No dings, blemishes, dents. Original glass. Both the hardtop and the convertible top are in good condition. Tires are REPUBLIC STEEL-BELTED, low mileage and tread still looks new. I installed a NEW Factory Correct German Becker Radio Stereo, replacing the after-market radio which was in the car when I purchased it. The automatic antenna is in perfect working condition. Antenna goes up and down with power on/off switch of radio as well as with the ignition switch. This roadster is equipped with two "rear mounted" speakers, normally found only on the SLC models. The engine, transmission, and suspension delivers a smooth ride. The delivered ride feels secure with no rattles, squeaks, etc. The timing chain was replaced prior to my purchasing. The engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and is very responsive. The exhaust muffler is new and the resonator has been eleminated resulting in a deeper exhaust sound. These roadsters come standard with all the whistles/bells. The AC blows cold air, heater works and distributes heated air through the proper vents. Power steering, power brakes, power windows, and all gauges are in working order including the clock. The cruise control does not work, if that's important to you, don't bid. The dash has a 1" crack at the defroster vent from the opening to the windshield (see photo) The interior has been reconditioned and has no tears, fading, or imperfections. The seats and door panels are as new. Original carpeting shows minor/normal wear. The passenger side sunvisor is NOT factory correct and does NOT have the Vanity Mirror. The car comes with an OWNER'S MANUAL, Becker Radio Operating Instructions, Factory Tool Kit and Jack.
