This is an 88,000 mile 1978 Diamond Jubilee Thunderbird. It is a Special Model built to commerate Fords 75th Aniversary. This car has had excellent care and you can see and tell that it was a car that was never abused or messed with in any way, It is a car that has always been maintained to be reliable and road ready. I drove it from Washington State to Los Angeles this past spring and I can say that it was the most pleasant carefree trip I have ever had. It runs and drives like a dream and did not use a drop of oil in the 1310 miles. The Original Interior is just beautiful and shows little wear if any. The Vinyl Top, Hand Stitched Leather Dash Pad and Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel are in excellent shape and not dried out or cracked. The seats and carpet are also in beautiful condition. The dashpanel is beautiful and all switches, knobs, dials and gauges look and work as they should as well as The Cruise Control, Stereo System and Air Conditioning that blows Super Cold. This car has the performance dash panel which includes all gauges and the Tachometer. These cars were very well appointed and Super Luxurious with only a few options available. It stands apart from the regular Thunderbird. These are very nice cars to own and drive and I especially like the Covered Canopy Roof Treatment as it is a more Private and Elegant Car. Just as special is the 351 Winsor, FMX Transmission and Ford 9 inch rear end that it is equipped with as most here in California are 400M Motors or the 302 Base motor in most other states is what I see the most. Mechanicly the car is factory stock with the only alteration being the dual exhaust system. The Body and Paint are also in very nice condition as well as the side and bumper trim. The paint is Bright, Shiny and Smooth to the touch, this car has always been garaged and maintained, it is a driver and has been keep very nice. The car comes with the Special Key Set with Inlaid Mahoney design that matches the dash trim and special knobs used Only on the Diamond Jubilee's. These were Special Edition Cars to Celebrate Fords 75th Anniversary of which only 18,994 were built. The transmission was recently serviced, the tires are nice and it just had a New Set of Four Monroe Shocks Installed.
