Vehicle Detail

1971 Plymouth GTX true RS23U1G VIN code. Clean Oregon title in my name. Factory tach, Slap-stick, Tuff wheel, rally wheels, buckets, power front disk, full vinyl, chrome package, RR speaker switch, RR defrost switch. Dash VIN matches the door tag, which also match both body stampings (cowl and core support). S code = Special for GTX, U code = 440 4bbl HP. 8 ¾ rear; I was told it is a 3:91 Sure-Grip, but have not confirmed. Clean and straight bumpers. Nice 440 hood with good call out bezels and hood mount turn signal. Decent glass and everything rolls up and down good. Interior is decent and all there; it is not totally rotted out from poor storage like many are. Hemi Orange with black interior, color matched dual side mirrors. Wiring looms appear to be all there and intact. I was told this car was in dry storage for 10+ years. It was a real beauty in its day. Only 2900 built, I have heard there is an estimated 30% survival rate. The GTX model is very rare and desirable as they were the highest trim and highest performance cars offered in the Satellite, Sebring, and Road Runner B-body style line up. Some writers are calling the 1971 GTX the last true muscle car designed and built. 1971 was also the last year of the GTX as a stand alone model. This car needs to be restored and deserves to be restored to its former glory. I am in this for the love of these cars and to hopefully get my 5 year old son interested, any amount you bid will go back into my Mopar fund. No motor, no trans, no fender tag, and no build sheet. I have looked in all the usual places for the build sheet. Under the carpet was the last place I was going to look, but I decided to leave that to the new owner to check. Rally gauge bezel is cracked. Rear defrost motor is missing, switch is tucked up in dash. Headliner is loose with small tears. Dash is cracked in two spots. Package tray and upper package area panels are bad. Front seats have wear and small tears, but are usable. Rear seat is nice but out of a 74, it has one cigarette burn. Original rear seat comes with car; it needs to be redone. Passenger side front grill piece is missing and a couple small pieces are also missing from center grill. This car has rust in all the normal places. Rear quarters have rust through. Front fenders have rust through. There are some rust blisters visible under vinyl top. Doors have some rust. Floor pan has a hole under drivers heal. Trunk floor has some rust through. Deck lid has some rust at bottom seam and two slight dents where it was pushed with a tire. Right rear quarter corner also has a gouge in it. Wheel wells have rust. Drivers side rear frame rail toward the end has some rust through and the passenger rear frame rail is soft. There are other areas of misc. rust and rust through. The big Mopar sheet metal company out of Georgia has almost every sheet metal part, and the frame rust company out of Rhode Island has rear frame rail repair kits, both are listed in most Mopar mags.
