For Sale: 1998 BMW 318ti I have owned this car since 2000 and it has been a pleasure to drive, gets excellent gas millage at 30MPG. I’ve used this as my secondary car hence the low miles. Have always tried to keep it garaged in the winter and waxed every year, The ’98 318ti was the last year BMW made the hatchback vehicle. It’s a unique looking sporty car, has a great looking metallic blue color and beautiful black leather interior. It drives and handles perfectly and does not burn oil. There is very little rust under the car, it amazes me how top quality the BMW metals, paints, engines and transmissions are. There has never been kids or pets in the vehicle and therefore it is very clean inside. The car has a clean title and never been in an accident or had an insurance claim. I have never miss treated this car, i drove it with care for 12 years now. I'm selling the car because i have a new Truck now. Maintenance needed: -Engine light is on and has been on for many years because the Catalytic converter sensor is bad. I replaced the Catalytic converter ~5 years ago and about 6 months after the replacement the check engine light came back on with an emissions code. The Car drives and sounds just like it did when I purchased it and therefore did not fix this issue and the check engine light remains on because of the catalytic code. -Struts need replacement -Its ready for an oil change (I only use Mobile 1 synthetic)-I would recommend doing the 100k service on the vehicle at this time. Defects (issues): Key scratch on right side of car (its not too noticeable) Couple stuffs on the hood where the clear coat rubbed off Paint fad and clearcoat peel on the rear bumper Stereo LED lights are very dim and hard to see, stock radio works otherwise.Handle to open the glovebox is loose, it works but you have to be careful. The air bag warning light is on, on the dashboard and has been on/off since I purchased the car. There is a known defect with the airbag sensor in the drivers seat hence i did not fix the issue. Driver door has an issue with the key, its temperamental… it will work with a little wiggle but, to make life easier, I have (for the last 5 years) locked and unlocked the car with the trunk lock which will lock/unlock the doors.
