Vehicle Detail
This car has just been completely restored. This is a 1974.5 Rubber Bumper MGB GT, restored to look like the European 1980 MGB GT Limited Edition, silver metallic paint with silver Limited Edition stripes, Limited Edition glove box badge, Limited Edition front and rear badges that had a specific color combination (the rear MG B GT badge had a color scheme of RED for the MG octagon and BLACK for the B GT letters, on the front bumper the MG emblem had a red background) NEW, Limited Edition front spoiler, and NEW Limited Edition light weight wheels with NEW Pirelli tires. All chrome is NEW, all rubber is NEW. NEW black MGB GT carpet kit with special MGBClassics Limited Edition interior which is black with gray piping. NEW Tourist Trophy extra thick, wooden steering wheel, NEW AM, FM, CD, MP3 stereo with 6.5" speakers in the front door panels and 4x10" speakers in the spare tire cover area. NEW windshield(NEW aluminum trim and rubber seals, the rear window is heated and the rubber seals are NEW as well.. unfortunately the aluminum trim for the rear window is no longer available anywhere so I've polished the original ones and they look as good as new) The aluminum trim around the side windows are no longer available new either, so I very carefully polished them as well, they now look excellent. The headliner is NEW with a more insulated sound deadening liner. All head rail vinyl has been replaced with matching vinyl. Dashboard and switches are all NEW, NEW windshield wiper switch. NEW brake master cylinder, NEW stainless steel lines, NEW MGB GT V8 Pads, NEW calipers, NEW rear wheel cylinders. NEW Silicon fluid is used for both the clutch and brake fluid(so you don't have to worry about damaging your paint if you spill it! Plus it has a higher boiling point which makes it better performance), NEW 3 piece clutch system with NEW clutch master and slave cylinders(stainless steel line to slave cylinder as well), NEW Spax conversion shocks front and rear. NEW Stainless steel sport exhaust system, with mild steel block hugger headers. The 3.9ltr Rover V8 engine is sourced from a low milage stock 1994 Land Rover Discovery. Rover 5 speed transmission built by Glenn Towery,NEW speedometer cable, Tach re-calibrated for the V8 engine, NEW Mallory Unilite Distributor, re-jetted, NEW Edelbrock 500 4brl carb, NEW Offenhauser Dual Port low intake manifold. Everything was carefully spaced so that the original MGB hood could still be used(just as the original MGB GT V8) NEW top and bottom radiator hoses, NEW MGB V8 radiator. 16” Electric cooling fan. Everything is detailed to the highest standards on this MGB GT. I've kept the rubber bumpers on the car for 2 reasons, first — the original 1980 Limited Edition MGB GT had rubber bumpers and second — the rubber bumper GTs are ultra rare, having only imported 1240 into the United States, there is only a very limited number left! This car is very reliable and is fun to drive around town. If you ever wanted to own an MGB, this is the year to buy one, there's lots of shows and events honoring the MG for it's 50th anniversary.
