Vehicle Detail

To start with, let me first say that I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information. As to myself, I am not a dealer, just a (62) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I manage a Correctional Facility here in Maine and have worked there for (39) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (835) transactions. Many of those have been muscle cars which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, Switzerland and Australia. Just some quick history on the GTO: The Pontiac GTO is considered by many as the first true muscle car. Whereas other manufacturers were concentrating on their full size lines, Pontiac saw the potential for dropping a big block engine into an intermediate frame and marketing it at a budget price. Pontiac sneaked past the GM restriction on this combination by making the GTO an option on the Tempest model, creating the hottest performance machine yet. The GTO sold in great numbers and would fuel the competition between GM, Ford, and Chrysler that would keep the muscle car industry thriving for years to come. The GTO would later evolve into the Judge, an extroverted option package of the blotted GTO, and would continue the tradition until the GTO died an embarrassing death in 1974. The debate still rages on whether the Ram Air IV or 455 H.O. was the best GTO engine of all time, but one thing is clear: the choice was only offered in 1970. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them and respond ASAP. Here is the link to the video: And now for the 1970 Pontiac GTO that I am auctioning here today. Cars History From Previous Owner: Mr. Christopher Sikorski was a local college professor and he bought this car brand new at a local Pontiac Dealership in Los Angeles California. He drove the GTO to and from his job and babied it all of the time. When he returned from work he always parked it in his garage. Years went by and Mr. Sirkoski retired and purchased a cabin in Salt Lake City Utah where he would go occasionally to spend time. He only took the GTO there a half dozen times. Eventually he became sick and stopped vacationing in Utah. In the 1990’s. he had the car repainted and some dents pulled. The interior remained original as well as the drivetrain. In 2011, with the GTO having been stored for 12 years but started every other week, Mr. Sikorski who could no longer drive, decided to sell the GTO. The GTO was sold to a dealer in Nevada and that is where I found the car and purchased it. I am only the second registered owner of this rare muscle car. Exterior: Just repainted back to the original color of Verdoro Green. The paint on the car is outstanding. All original body panels with the exception of the left outer third trunk section, left outer third trunk brace and the left trunk lower inner quarter extension. New rear bumper with new lenses, new windshield, new GTO decals. The tires appear to be almost new and the original Rally II rims have been blasted and restored. The trim rings and center caps are OEM and the lug nuts are new after market. Interior: The interior is completely original with the exception of the carpet, underlayment and sill plates. I have also added a new shifter boot and a new reproduction of the optional 4-speed walnut shifter knob (M09). Additionally, I have added a new heater core as well as a new package tray and seat/trunk divider. There is a crack in the passenger’s side of the dash as well as a rip in the passenger’s bucket seat. The original headliner has a few star shaped patches covering what I assume to be holes. All original seat belts are present with tags attached. Door locks and windows are in working order. Engine: The original 455 engine starts up instantly and of course the vin number is there. I have detailed it up as best as I could. All engine components are there and appear to be original to the car with the exception of the carburetor. I believe the carburetor was switched out when sold in California as it is the correct California emissions carburetor dated June 1970. I purchased a new bell housing inspection cover. The Ram Air components are all there but are not functional. I replaced the Ram Air upper and lower cushions, pre heater duct and cable with knob. I did change the oil and filter as well as installing new spark plugs, hoses w/clamps and correct RC 15 radiator cap. Transmission: The transmission is original and again, yes, the vin number is there. It shifts up and down through the gears as it should with no issues. The shifter is original with an aftermarket walnut shifter knob (M09). Undercarriage: The undercarriage is in very good condition as can be seen in the photos. I did replace the exhaust system, chrome exhaust splitters, rear coil springs and rear brakes pads. Electrical: All exterior lights are in working order to include the headlights, tail lights, back up lights, blinkers and the plate light. The interior overhead light works. The wipers, heater and idiot lights are all functional. The radio does not work but I believe it will both work but simply have not had the time to chase down the problem. The horns work but not when pushing the horn pad. Could be the horn relay. The new hood tach (I have the original) works perfectly and is back lit and looks really cool at night. This is an exact reproduction not a cheapo. I have also purchased a new battery and battery tray. Trunk: The trunk is excellent with new spatter paint as well as the original Rally II spare and the original jack assembly. There is new trunk weather-stripping and the jack instruction decal is a new after market trunk mat and spare cover. Mechanical: Steering, brakes and suspension is very good with no issues. The GTO handles and drives down the road excellent. Documentation: · Original Owner’s Name; · (2) Original Build Sheets. When Combined, Show All Options; · PHS Documentation; · Reproduction PHS Window Sticker; · Original Carpet Manufacturing Tag Dated Sept. 1969. What is Original to the GTO: · 455 Block (Vin Stamped and Code Correct); · 4-Speed Transmission (Vin Stamped); · 4-Speed Shifter; · Rear Axle (3.31:1 Posi); · Heads (64’s); · Intake Manifold; · Ram Air Components (With the exception of foam, filter and lower cable); · Distributor; · Exhaust Manifolds; · Alternator; · Water Pump; · Steering Gear Box; · Valve Covers; · Glass With the Exception of Windshield; · All Seat Belts (All tags are in place); · (5) JL Coded Rallye II Rims; · Jack Assembly; · Body Panels (Except left outer truck section, brace and lower inner extension); · All Plug Wire Retainers; · Interior (With the exception of the rug which was original); My Comments: Are you serious!! There were only 302 of these GTOs built. Think about that. Of those 302, how many are left? Of those that are left, how many have the original drive train, original body panels, a real original build sheet and owner history? Of those, how many have bullet proof photo documentation that proves it all? Yup, you got it; "NOT MANY" That's how rare this GTO is. Vin.
