Vehicle Detail

I'm selling the Karmann Ghia.... Never thought I would but I have too many things going on at once. So here goes... Its a really nice looking Ghia with tons of recent work done to it. The pictures will show well how this car looks. It has a very clean interior and brand new floors and carpets. The floors and heater channels are all rust free and new, welded and seam sealed. It is an overall amateur restoration but shows nicely and gets compliments constantly. The paint is an older re-spray but still shows well on the road. This car is a driver. The top was just completed, brand new, and the work and parts totaled over $4,000. It was performed by one of the best in the business, Seamless Custom, a shop whom you might have seen on TV as the winners of Speed Channel's Car Worrier show. I have receipts to show total of this work performed only a month ago. There is evidence of hammer marks inside the front right fender below the spare wheel. It may have been bumped in the past, but the repair is unnoticeable from visual inspection and does not effect the cars function or appearance. Gaps (Doors, hood, trunk) all around are even. This is a very presentable sharp looking car. This car will compare nicely with most any car of its age and it's rare to see a Ghia in this good of shape. So the reason its up for sale and not blasting through the country roads of Western Mass you ask?? There are now a few electrical bugs to iron out, though I imagine nothing major. Most if not all components are included along with some other spare things Ghia specific. I was driving it a few weeks ago when something shorted out up front and burnt up a wire and a fuse. Lights still work along with a few other things but the ignition wont signal. I have confirmed its at the key somewhere and not out back. Coil, regulator, battery, are all as they should be. An hour of tinkering and possibly a wire diagram will have this baby fired up. As you can see in the pictures, I have a Mini, a Westy, and a Baja. I also have a 66 splitty that is at my buddy's garage. This combined with the fact that I just started a new job, a wife and two kids, and a house to tend to, means I have absoloutely no time, and all of my projects are on hold. Unfortunately, the ghia is the first to go (convenient that it just happens to be the only one that can't fit a car seat..) It should really be enjoyed this fall as it is the absolute best season for a drop top Ghia. Aside from the new found electrical issues, the tires are brand new 100% tread and hold air like so. The car does not leak oil, spit or sputter, and runs like a VW. It has a 1600 motor and the transmission shifts as it should. Brakes could be adjusted/bled to tighten things up though no replacements need be made, and some cylinders are new. The car has always had a spot in the Garage since I have had it, and is not driven in the rain. I suspect that it is not completely water tight as it is a Ghia convertible and none truly are. The top also includes a brand new tonneau cover for when its down. Overall, an awesome red convertible full of nostalgia that turns heads wherever it goes that will continue to go up in value. This car will be cruising up the country side this fall somewhere no doubt, let it be you. Please ask me any questions prior to bidding and I will do my best to answer them. I encourage anyone local to come see the car. I will attempt to take a look at it and if I can get it fixed the price will reflect this as normally, I would expect to get over 10K for this car any season. If you plan to ship this car I will do what I can on my part in helping with this process. I have done this before also and it can be easily accomplished if your not familiar. Thanks for taking a look, best of luck with your bid. Cheers. PS. This car is being sold as-is and includes no warranty as it is a 40 year old car. All questions and concerns are to be dealt with prior to purchase to avoid misunderstandings. I will do my best to answer any questions you might have. Thanks. UPDATE!! OFFER:I have had a couple emails recently and so... Buy-it-now price will include shipping to all US states or 1500 toward shipping out of country. Shipping to CT or CA? Buy-it-now and the car ships to your door. I would like the car gone this week and can make arrangements right away. Good Luck!
