Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 24 valve Cummins motor with 196k miles. Attached to the motor is a 5-speed PTO tranny with transfer case; the whole shabang is bolted to a Ram pick-up, so, if you buy the motor you get the truck with it. I figured this would save me the trouble of posting pictures! Using KBB as a guide, the truck is in fair to good condition depending on who you ask. I bought it last year to make the move from SLC to NYC; the engine ran fine and I averaged 25 mi/gal hauling a 1000 lbs! Prior to departing I had a competent mechanic look over the truck and here is what I ended up replacing at the time: -shocks, rotors, pads, a caliper, everything below the steering cylinder except the arm (but) up to the knuckles, tires, wastegate fitting, both front bearings, batteries, windshield wipers, rear tranny seal, shaft bearing, park brake cable and pedal. Drums were turned, shaft was balanced, and the horn button had to be spliced in. The turbo is coked, but I can still get around 10# when I stomp on it in fourth (at sea level now). Original wastegate fitting was plugged with a bolt and the boost went as high as 35# (but at 4000' above sea level)! The previous owner swore by a new clutch, but had no receipt. He also declined to comment on chipping- said it never happened. We didn't check compression, however it seems fine to me; the smoke and fluids are as they should be, and I don't know much about chips anyway. The clutch, by the way, is great. Brakes and steering tell me that there is a vacuum leak or more likely a leaky steering pump, although the brake cylinder could use some TLC as well. The front axle is the original POS, but the rear end is the heavy duty Dana. I can tell you more on a phone. Do some research if you feel that you need it and send me a serious e-mail. Thanks for stopping by. Max. P.S. selling it 'cause I got no use for it and parking is a B!@#h. P.P.S. this is not the infamous 53 block. This engine is not Brazilian, and if you research this you'll find that for every 1 good engine 8 were from brazil (code 53). Unfortunatelly, there is a wiring harness obscuring the numbers, so I have yet to produce a picture of this, however, you have to feel this with your fingers to believe it. Can deliver the truck to you. Please make an inquiry.
