1985 BMW 325e/205,500 MILES I love this car and have had it since about 1997. I treated it with lots of love and caring but now, with three cars, out of a job, and my wife doesn't even drive yet, I have to get rid of one (I'd get rid of the Ford Escape if I could, but my wife won't let me!) Here is what I have done to the car: Never smoked in it nor did original owner $300 mag wheels $2,000 custom lambskin interior (full leather, not just "trim") Tires essentially new with about 2,000 miles on them Brand new battery (July, 2012) Brand new radiator (Aug, 2012) New oil change (Aug, 2012) New radiator flush (Aug, 2012) Tires rotated (Aug, 2012) Gas lines replaced (2011) Air conditioner works great (cold!) All safety checked by my mechanics and good to go Other things I want you to know about the car (positives and negatives): Be sure to look at all the EBAY reports on the car at the end of this auction information. It confirms mileage, condition, accidents (or lack thereof) etc.There seems to be one (or two?) accident record event. This is either from early 2012 or from 2000. In 2000, someone hit the windshield with a rock and cracked it and I reported it (later replaced the windshield). Now in 2012, the car was (as mentioned below) vandalized by someone(s) scratching it with a rock on the driver side. I called the police to make out a case report. The car HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND. NO CRASHES, BUMPS AND NO FLOODS. Drives lovely and still gets 34-37 mpg on hwy and 24-27 mpg city. Interior is clean, no rips in leather. Some wear to the fine, custom lambskin leather at the point where the driver slides in to sit down. I just had the oil changed a couple of weeks ago (August 2012) and when I next looked at the odometer, it seems to have stopped moving. I do not understand this. In any case it currently shows a bit over 205,000 miles (note the recent reports from the vehicle info history confirming all of this), but I am advertising it as having 205,500 miles since I have driven it maybe 100 miles since noticing this odd occurrence and I want to give the buyer the benefit of the doubt. (Again, look below on the EBAY information for buyer protection checks, and see what the mileage was, officially, when I had it emissions checked etc. recently, so this ought to confirm the current mileage as claimed.) The reason there's only about 205,000 miles on this 27 year old car (about 7,500/year) is that I have always owned more than one car, and have three cars now and since I've always lived close to my teaching job (when I could get one) I've driven this one very little overall; e.g., only about 2,000 miles since 2009. Again, the reason I'm selling it is that I don't need three cars, and can't very well defend keeping it since I am currently unemployed and need the money and so must sell one of them. The car was originally red, but was repainted just before I bought it. The shine is still very nice in most places, but is starting to fade on the passenger side door, front quarter panel and on the hood (due to Arizona sun) I brought the car down here from Wyoming in August 2011 (lived there two years and it sat mostly in the garage) and was selling it for $4,000. About two weeks after I moved into this complex, some kids (I never found them) "keyed" the driver side from front to back in three parallel lines. I was sick when I saw it...my baby! No rust at all but so sad. Anyway I had to bring the price down as you can see. There is a rusted out area (about 3 inches by 2 inches) near the driver door and front quarter panel - driving is not affected and I think it could stay that way for another 10 years without having to do anything about it, but I want the buyer to know this. I really believe the new owner of this BMW will adore it as I do. In my opinion, a BMW is an amazing car - one really can't buy a used car so cheaply that has so many amazing features, is as finely built, and is in as good a condition as this one for a such a low price. I've never sold a car on EBAY so I don't know how the buyer will take possession of it. I assume buyer will pick it up personally or pay to have it picked up and sent.
