Vehicle Detail
Here is the rare chance to own the wagon we all wish we had growing up. Up for sale is a 1967 Buick Sport Wagon built as GM could have made this model. That being said, I am selling this now because my son just retired from the Army Special Forces and he needs some stimulus money to begin his well earned, civilian life. This project started with a1967 Buick Sport Wagon from the dry, eastern side of Washington State. The Sport Wagon used a 120-inch wheelbase that was 5 inches longer than the other Skylark four-door sedans and wagons. The 1964 to 1967 Sport Wagons had a Sky Roof that consisted of four tinted glass panels surrounding the elevated section of the roof. I have owned the car for 7 years and can virtually guarantee that you will have the only one at any cruise night or car show. Drive train: The car runs and drives great, it starts with a single twist of the key, shifts great and does not overheat even at the mile high altitude where it lives today · 1974 Buick 455 rebuilt, bored .30 over – less than 1000 miles · Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake with 1” spacer and 600 CFM carb · New Goodmark fuel tank with GM electric pump in the tank that is already plumbed with fuel return lines, Lokar billet mount w/throttle and transmission kick down cables and so it is ready to bolt on an EFI system · TA Performance long tube headers with high temp coating, custom exhaust system with H-pipe, Flowmaster 50 series mufflers and stainless turn down tips hidden below rear bumper · Aluminum radiator with thermostat controlled electric cooling fan and billet overflow tank · Rebuilt GM 700R4 4 speed automatic, custom drive shaft, 10 bolt rear end with TA Performance aluminum cover · Everything else attached to the engine is new (Power Master mini-torque starter, 1 wire, 100 amp alternator, power steering pump, water pump, oil pump, etc.) · DUI distributor with custom advance curve for this motor · Optima battery mounted in the rear spare tire compartment Chassis: With the long wheel base and with every suspension piece having been replaced and upgraded, the car rides, stops and handles like a new car. · SSBC 4 wheel disc brakes, all new lines, new power booster and master cylinder · Rear - Hotchkis springs, adjustable upper control arms, boxed lower arms and sway bar- all powder coated black · Front – SPC tubular upper and lower control arms, McGaughys drop spindles, all new steering arms, drag links, Hotchkis springs and sway bars – all powder coated black · 17x8 MHT “Hot wheels” polished alloys with 235/45/17 Kuhmo tires – less than 1000 miles · Completely rewired with a Ron Francis Access 24/7 wiring system that has 24 circuits and 3 relays, magnetic mounting system for the fuse panel, all new wire, new switches, plenty of extra circuits for AC, fuel injection, high amp stereo and power windows – no bundles of unused wire as all pre-wired kits leave behind Exterior: The car was taken down to bare metal, fully disassembled, rust was found only in the spare tire well and Sky Roof window channels which was cut out and new metal welded in, all glass removed and base-clear coated in VW Salsa Red paint (over I year in the paint process) · Pinkees Hot Rod shop built this one of a kind, all steel cowl induction hood · Functional portholes from a 2007 Buick Lucerne plasma cut into front fenders to help vent heat from engine compartment · Bumpers re-chromed · New OPGI Buick outside mirrors, billet short antenna · Every piece of trim (56 pieces) polished and straightened before putting back on the car · Inner wheel wells, radiator support and anything else that I could find powder coated black · New Windshield, all the roof, rear and side glass was polished and tinted before being put back on the car · Every name badge and extra trim holes were welded shut and ground flush – the only logo left on the car is the rear tailgate logo that says Sport Wagon – most people don’t even know this is a Buick · All weather stripping and rubber parts are new (doors, rear tailgate, glass, etc.) · New power window motor and lift mechanism from nu-Relics for rear tailgate glass controlled with a Ron Francis switch on the dash · The car will come with a fitted car cover Interior: Fully disassembled, converted to floor shifter and bucket seats. This is the last area to complete and is 95% done. Only the cargo area remains to finish and the headliner needs to be tightened (beyond my skills) · Black interior- carpets, headliner, door panels and seats · Floors have zero rust and were first coated with POR 15 then completely sound proofed using Second Skin Audio de-amplifier sheets from the firewall to the tailgate · Any metal pieces that were taken off were powder coated black (seatbacks, foot well cover trim pieces, etc.) · Buckets seats are brand new Scat seats with a custom fiberglass center console · New carpeting, headliner, door panels, window cranks, arm rests are already installed in the passenger area · Very rare radio block off plate installed – no stereo at this time other than the 455 exhaust · Ididit tilt column and new Buick GS steering wheel · Dash converted to floor shift, no shift indicator and the clock was replaced with a tach · Oil pressure and Temp gauges are installed in the center console · Lokar throttle pedal and Lokar floor shifter installed in console with a lighted shift indicator ring · Interior lights all new · Dash pad is perfect To be Completed: I have had the car in multiple shows like Good-Guys for the past few years as it sits right now and it always attracts a lot of attention. · Windshield wiper motor needs to be replaced (last remaining original piece) · Headliner needs a professional touch to tighten up · Seat belts installed (complete set of Juliano belts come with the car, including shoulder belts for front seats · Rear cargo area needs completing (all the boards are cut, new carpet and vinyl are included with car · E brake pedal needs to be re-installed (powder coated black and re-furbed). I took it off when I re-wired the car · I would cover the center console in vinyl but it looks good now · I will include the original Sky roof sun visors but they will need to be recovered if you want to install them · Everything else that needs to go back on the car like the inside rear view mirror, sun visors, etc. are new and will be included with the car · If you want to pick my brain on future upgrades I will be happy to discuss my ideas. Overall the paint on this car is beautiful. It does have a one or two stone chips from driving to cruise nights. I would rate paint a 9 out of 10. I have spent hundreds of hours and way more money than what I am asking to get to this point. As it sits, the car has been appraised and is insured for $35,000. For the new owner, I will include the receipts that I have accumulated over the past 7 years. Check out the pictures below.
